Inventor help: Text won't show up

i'm having an unusual problem with inventor, that i've never seen before. while creating a machine shop drawing, everytime i input text, be it though annotated text, notes, or editing existing dimensions, the text doesn't show up. i can't think of anything i did that would cause this, it seems to have manifested itself out of the blue. its getting pretty infuriating. thanks for any help.

There is already a thread on this problem here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54685). This is a known issue caused by a Windows security update and Autodesk has published a hotfix for it.
