We don't but we do. It's not an official subteam but due to our HOF duties and the need to create a video for it me and some other team memebers design videos and such for the team during the year.

Wow... Ed, is it just me or was that the least understandable post I've ever read from you?

BTW, I'm in the process of making a video for QC Elite and hopefully everyone in our division at least will get a copy. I'll possibly have it done before Atlanta, but I've still got to get Adam to make some music for it after I finish the visual. And then it's got to be voiced over or something. That's pushing it for this deadline.

EDIT: I've just read the criteria and realized that this should be no problem for me... it's only between 1:30 and 3:00 minutes long. Mine's going to be at least a half hour.

Yeah it was kinda weird. We have a PAW team (Promotions Animation Website) but no videographers. We make videos from what we collect from competition recordings, pictures and what we get on our cmacorder. We use these videos in the HOF (which isn't required but is preferred). We also need to make a new recruitment video.

We don't but we do.

That's out team as well haha. We don't have a designated person or persons to record; everyone just does and gives the data to myself and anyone else who wants it. And when I'm not driving or in the pits, I'm all over taking pictures and recording.

we arent asking for anything amazing (unless you're feeling up to it of course!) We realize everyone is getting ready for regionals and competitions now, but FIRST really needs a videography award...

Well... I've got the video made (1:45 long) but Pinnacle Studio is being stupid and has a problem with music.

An inexpensive video editing software.

Pinnacle Studio (http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Family/)

It's as easy to use as Windows Movie Maker, with many more added features.

oh ok. i was just asking because id never heard of it before. we use adobe premiere to edit our videos. You can check them out here. (http://www.teamfusion364.org/Videos%202007.htm) I think the best one is our unveiling teaser. its so much fun! :D

Haha... pretty cool. I wish I could afford Premiere...

My video is made entirely with stock footage taken at the Midwest Regional and pictures from events in the past three years.

well whenever you get it done please please please get it sent in so we can review it asap!

It's finished. I had to import the video into Windows Movie Maker and add the music after fooling around with Studio for about 3 hours... I should have been doing my homework.

i know the feeling. i spend countless hours with the other two girls that do videography working on videos and making the dvd for this year. and manage to neglect my homework. but hey, if its something you like to do then its worth it! who needs homework anyways!?

Eh... that's what I said during high school, now look at me. I'm at community college as a freshman, two years removed from high school. I did one year of service at McDonald's. Trust me... I need to do my homework.

Alright, im posting more information about the award to save everyone some trouble.

The theme of the video should be "What sets your team apart from other FIRST robotics teams?"

It must be based around the theme, set to music, and at least 1 min 30 sec. but no longer than 3 min.

For specifics about what the videos will be judged on, check it out on the website here. (http://www.teamfusion364.org/channel%20364%20Regional%20Video%20Award.htm)

To submit an entry upload it to the internet somewhere and send a link to teamfusion364@gmail.com. It must be submitted one week before Nationals (April 5).

If you have any questions let me know!

A video contest, hm? That's pretty cool. Unfortunately, we don't have a videography team. We have...a person who likes making videos, if that counts.

I'm currently working on a video, but not for this contest...^^" Maybe another time...

melissa_s

well it doesnt have to be by your videography team because i know a lot of teams dont have anyone who does videography and puts together videos. just anyone who wants to make a video can enter, no videography team required.

melissa_s

so ive noticed a few teams have put monitors up in their pits. way to go, i think its an awesome way to promote what your team does outside of build season, along with promoting the robot.

just a reminder, the championship is only a few weekends away. which means so is the video award! Get your entries in!

Due date is technically tomorrow right? (One week from the beginning of Championships) Will you be extending it to accomodate for those that could possibly be getting in late?

melissa_s
04-04-2007, 22:37
certainly. just get it in before championships.
