The webcast for Midwest is up and running here (http://live.wildstang.org/midwest.php). Please reply here if you have any issues with it.

Does the webcast only play with Real Player?
Or will it play with Windows Media Player?
I tried opening it in WMP but it says it cannot connect because the server is too busy.

Cool, I really don't want to install Real Player if I don't have to. :p
Way to many adverts.

Little network hiccup, but it should be OK now, except we're not getting any video to the table for some reason. Working on that now.

It's working now, Thanks Dave and Wildstang! We're looking forward to some exciting matches this weekend.

I get this message when I try to connect.
"Access to the webcast from the Midwest Regional venue has been disabled."
If this isn't a common problem come find me @ 1103's pit.

I was watching it, then it went into this endless cycle of "Buffering" & "attempting to reconnect". I tried to reconnect a couple times but same thing happened. It will probably be fine when I get back form class but I thought I should report it. Thanks, Wildstang

The message is correct - there's no point in wasting bandwidth by having people watch the webcast who are here in person!

I'm trying a different method of webcasting this time which uses Windows Media. I'm not sure how it's going to work out - we may have to switch back to Real if it keeps freezing up.

Im having the same problem by trying to connect, I was watching the sponsor reel then it just stopped, please let me know if i need Real Player, or what needs to be taken care of to watch this video.

Looks like Windows Media isn't working out. Sorry!
Try going to the URL again to view it with RealPlayer this time (yes, you'll need to install it, and BTW I don't seem to have an issue with ads with it anymore?)
Requested file not found. Link may be outdated..

I am getting the same error :(

I may be in real player and a little laggy but it is working by the time I got back from class. I'm getting my first glimpse of Wildstang in action (looks like they are teleporting tubes onto the rack with the lag) and it is very impressive. Thanks again
This just in...
Wildstang is good.
(As if you couldn't have figured that one out.)

I'm getting the stream now, good audio, but only 1 frame/second for video.
I can't get it... When I go to the link it says save as or open with (normal stuff), but it is a PHP file. So I said open with WMP and WMP says can't open file, unsupported file type (or something like that). So I tried again, said save as, renamed it to midwest.wmp and tried to open it again in WMP and I got an error that says can not play the file, as well as the error message I said above (wrong file type...). Any ideas? How did everyone else get around this?

Windows Media was not working, so we had to switch to a Real broadcast. Download and install RealPlayer to get it working.

It says i don't have enough network bandwidth.
It says i don't have enough network bandwidth.
I had it working for a moment but now I've got the same problem.
It says, "You cannot receive this content. You do not have enough network bandwidth."
What's up?
Dave Flowerday
15-03-2007, 14:40
What's up?
Well, what do you have your network bandwidth set to?
Check Tools->Preferences->Connection
I switched to Real player. And I too get the not enough Network Bandwidth error. My preferences say I am set to 1.5Mbps
Well, what do you have your network bandwidth set to?
Check Tools->Preferences->Connection
It has been set to 384 kbps DSL/Cable.
It seems to be working alright now. Thanks.

if you don't like real player (and all the crap that seems to come with it), there is a program called real alternative (google it) which should work. I haven't tried the stream on it yet, but i presume it should work.

It is the Chicago regional, but no 330 is not there. The list of teams attending is here (https://my.usfirst.org/myarea/index.lasso?page=teamlist&menu=false&event=IL).

You need to configure RealPlayer to work with the Motorola proxy. You'll have to find directions on how to do that - I don't have them handy.

I don't know if there is anything you can do about it, but the sound it kind of distorted, like the volume it is being fed into the webcaster way too loud.
Other than that, great picture!

Yeah, I know about it - there's nothing I can do about it right at the moment, but I think I can do something about it for tomorrow.

I'm having some trouble. The stream connects great and I don't think there are any bandwidth issues, but I only have audio (no video). I tried with RealPlayer 10.5, that didn't work so then I tried Real Alternative (yes, I did uninstall RP before installing RA), same problem. My graphics drivers are updated (nvidia 93.71), although I'm guessing it's a codec issue, though I don't know why, as those are usually reported when the media is opened?
Any suggestions?

It's the tie-dye.:)
If it's Beatty vs. Wildstang in the finals, Wildstang will win. Wildstang can put tubes on more quickly and 1739 can't get up Beatty's ramp.

Beatty vs Wildstang, and the score ended up 0 to 0, who would have guessed.

Beatty aint there. It's 1000. 648 and 447.

Finals matches 1 and 2 were ties!
BTW: 111's alliance made it to the Finals, but 71's did not. 71 lost in the semi's.

looks like Midwest is the most exciting regional this week
who would have thought that 1000+648 could have taken 904+111 to FIVE matches, two ties and a split. he, could end up being another tie this match, that would be crazy

its amazing to see such a different style almost every alliance at the wisconsin regional had ramp bots they used these teams seem to be duking it out in ringers only. i wonder how itll play out in nationals

I bet every allaince will have two scorers and a ramp bot.
It's not like there's going to be a shortage of good ones to choose from.

Some of those ramp bots may also be scorers, 69 for example is a quality bot in both respects.

Oh man, I hope they're archived somewhere. My camera battery died after the second final match tie.
Without a doubt, the most exciting regional yet. Just a side-note though, I have only watched one other regional, VCU, for 2 hours.:o

I have it. I just need to split it up and recompress it. I'll work on it tomorrow - I'll get the eliminations at least.
