OK. Now that the regionals are over how many Red or Yellow cards were actually issued? This is not a discussion if they were deserved or not, just curious how many and where.

To my knowledge, only one team (900) received a yellow card at the Palmetto Regional; the card was during qualifying.

To my knowledge, only one yellow was given at BAE in NH, during quarterfinals. No reds.

@ the Boilermaker Regional:
3 yellows and 0 reds.
1 for tipping and 2 for overly-aggressive driving.

DQ for tipping, didn't affect the outcome of the match. If you get DQed for any sort of over aggressive driving it is technically a red card. No yellows have to be issued before or afterwards.

I believe that there was 1 yellow card issued at the NYC regional

The brazilian pilot was card free, and in LSR i know that 1 red card was given in the semi(418)...

I do not believe that there were any issued at the Colorado Regional even though the head referee stated that they would be watching closer and giving them out on Saturday.

I think only 1567 and 250 recived yellow cards at FLR.

The Lucas

didn't 250 receive 1 in qual and 1 in elims?

Detroit and GLR - zero.

I want to know why the equipment box for the regionals has so many yellow flags in it. It's not like the team that gets the yellow card keeps the flag with them all weekend, displaying it in the pit or something. You really only would need a maximum of 12, and that's if everybody in two consecutive matches had gotten a yellow card. In reality, 4-6 would do it.

There was 1 yellow that I know of at LA for aggressive tactics (with the arm)

how did it work geting a red but no yellow card in philly?

Well, in Philly the one red card was given in the elimination rounds, for intentional tipping!(for that round all teams of that alliance were DQ'd) And as far as I can remember no yellow cards were given at all.

I just saw they had one. Wasn't sure when they got it.

I remember a yellow being given out at New Jersey for aggressive driving.

There was also one given out at UTC, but since it was our last round of qualifications, the flag was not given to us.

Yeah, I'll verify that. We were the recipients of the only red card at Lone Star Regional, in round 4 of our semifinal match.

Two were given out at Davis. One during to 1662, and another during Elims. I don't remember who got the one during elims, but I do remember that the ref never bothered to give them the flag because they got eliminated in that match.

There was at least 1 yellow flag at VCU way back in the first week

AFAIK neither were ever issued at Bayou.

In the very last round of the finals at Davis, I saw the ref throw a yellow card for an overly agressive team (trying to tip robots) and then he threw a blue one. Does anybody know what that's about?

pakratt1991

I believe the blue flag was a 10 point penalty for more overly aggressive driving after the yellow card. Although they never really did say, seeing as everyone was celebrating and it did not change the match outcome :-)

414 for excessive violence
122 for deployment of ramps outside homezone

A red flag was issued during the second match of the finals to 2108's alliance.

122 for deployment of ramps outside homezone.

A yellow card for a 72x72 violation? Could you explain that one please?

It was for repeated violation of the 72 inch rule over the course of several matches.

Repeated and intentional/obvious? or repeated small violations?

St. Louis and Detroit were card-free, as far as I know. Didn't really see any excessive reasons for them either, other than the rough defense at Detroit (which can be blamed on the nature of the game / robots designed for it if you want to).

Repeated and intentional/obvious? or repeated small violations?

For their first 3-4 matches (until the card came out I believe), the robot drove out from the home zone, and within the first seconds, the ramps deployed. After deploying at midfield, the robot would have to race back to the home zone. The yellow card was given because it was an obvious violation repeatedly occurring. It was definitely not intentional, but it was something that shouldn't have continued.

No, Actually we only recieved 1 and that was during the quaterfinals. I believe that it was for over agressive driving.

250 received one yellow flag- it was the first match of the quarterfinals. We were given the flag because we played defense with our claw out (it broke during the match and became stuck in the out position). It was the right call for referees to make. However, a word to drivers who plan to play defense with a broken claw: if you have a wooden claw and you keep running it into a robot made of steel and aluminum, don't expect it to be intact after the match.

I believe they hand out the flags before the robots go out on the field. They usually have the robots queued for 2 matches, meaning that there can be 18 yellow flags out at one time:ahh:

Actually 1930 and 1567 both had a yellow card by the end of qualifying. I don't remember the reason for either card being assessed.

None at the SBPLI Long Island Regional that I was aware of.
