Alright, now that the official divisions (https://my.usfirst.org/myarea/index.lasso?page=teamlist&menu=false&event=CMP) have been posted, let's discuss the division where the FRC Championship competition champions will originate.

We are happy to have local friends of ours from GA in our division: 1311 (Kell High), 1746 (Forsyth Alliance) and friends from SC 1102 (M'Aiken Magic). One of the 4 Peachtree competition champions, 1369 (Middleton Magnet High School) are here. I have some personal friends also on Newton, one of the Israel competition champions 1574 (Iscar & Misgav). Of course there is also the perennial favorite 111 (Wildstang) also. :)

340 will be playing in Newton this year. Also Representing Rochester will be 1511. 316 Looked strong at FLR as a good lifter. Wildstang is always a threat as well. Newton does not seem to be as much of a powerhouse as some of the other divisions but we shall see. I'm pumped!

I am very happy to be in the same division as another close team! 340 and 1511 will show FIRST what Rah-Cha-Cha can do!

148 is a very good tube scorer.

1444 has a solid robot with excellent traction and a good arm. Can go offense or defense. Did not lose a match at St. Louis.

1985 is a strong rookie team with good ramps, and they can hang a few tubes also.

Thanks for the vote of confidence in our little hanger bot! We are looking forward to sharing the experience of the Championships with all the other Newton teams. Be it by offering scouting assistance, technical assistance, crowd support or simply hanging tubes, we will do our best to help Newton lead to Einstein! For those who want to learn a little about our robot, V squared, check out the following links from the quarter finals at Pitt, No one came near us thanks to 48 and 222**, the beauty of a good defense with a capable hanger:

We seem to have a good assortment of ring placers and ramp/defenders.

Keep an eye out for 1038 and their behind the back slam dunks on the top row! It was our downfall at Buckeye.

Forget Robots... who wants to be the most giant cheering section the Georgia Dome has ever seen?!?!

In Boston we got 7 teams doing the "I believe that Robots Rock" Cheer... I wonder if we could get 30 doing the roller coaster!! haha!

Now THIS is going to be fun! 340 & 1511 finally joining forces :)

If anyone wants to check our our scouting database, we will be the ones with the 1 5 1 1 laptops & the camo pants! We'd be happy to share any of the info if teams need it.

Team 987 is looking forward to another shot at Newton again and we're anxious to get together with some old (and new) friends like 39 and 597 among others...thought we would share a promo we cooked up recently as opposed to listing attributes. A picture (video) is worth a 1000 words?

Yes, that is our robot pushing 79 and the whole rack a couple of feet!

Robot Class: 4' 120lbs
Drivetrain: 4wd (6 wheels total, back four powered)
Speed: (Unmeasured...)
Ground Clearance: ~2"? Around, we can climb up to 30 degree ramp.
Arm: 3 stage elevator powered by the two Keyang motors, travels relatively fast. Also our grabber is run independently by chain on a system that moves up and down with the elevator.
Gripper: Suction cup, with "wings" that hold the tube stable while driving. Works really well, suprisingly.
Pick Up Method: Floor
Ramp: 2 robots.
Results: Philadelphia Regional Finalists, 3rd seeded at Los Angeles (We could have done better in Philly, but due to banebots transmissions we could not drive for a couple matches. We went through three sets, hopefully the hardened, improved pin plates in atlanta don't fail.)
Strengths: Scoring. We can do it consistently, and under defense. Our driver has years experience and works extremely well under pressure. Our ramps are pretty good, but teams with the maximum (28") wide robot with bumpers on have a smaller window to get up on (they have to line up kind of to the right, rather than being able to gun it from anywhere).

If you are against Team Awkward Turtle, expect a loss. Fear the Turtle. Team 2108 is coming to win.Wow, some big talk from a rookie team. I was able to see your robot in action at VCU and obviously it did well. Seasoned humble veteran teams know that it helps very much to have very good alliance partners. We will see how the competition pans out.

Team 2265 The Fe Maidens

Name: Rosie the Riveted

Dimensions: At ramp- 37” x 27” x 13” (with ramp flat)
At highest point-37” x 27” x 36”

Weight: 119 lbs.

Defense: Our robot is really hard to push around, and is relatively fast. Defense is no problem.
Offense: We have both an arm & a ramp. The ramp can fit 2 robots tandem, the arm can score ringers most easily on the bottom row.
