what teams do you think we should look out for in atlanta
A lot of CyberBlue's great regional champion partners got assigned to Galileo, including Clarkson (229), Driven (1730), and Pulse (1555). If any of those 2 are in the same alliance, you know who I'll be rooting for ;)

Every team is a team to look out for. We don't know who has improved their robot, and so everyone is a possible amazing competitor.
I'm looking forward to playing some great matches with amazing teams. Best of luck to everyone! GALI-
I'm just surprised to see every Xerox sponsored team at the same division for the very first time. Too bad I couldn't make it down to Atlanta this year - crazy Engineering Risks and Benefits Analysis Exam :(

Well, let the plugs begin...
294. We can play great defense (watch the San Diego elims, and that was on aluminum wheels with zipties for tread). We can also score decently; watch match 1 of san diego (We didn't have much practice though, so it was kind of awkard).

All I know is, I'm so happy to have 217 in our division again this year. Hopefully the pigs and chickens will be on the same side of the field this year come eliminations. :) This should be fun guys, looks like an exciting division, several good teams.

well all i can say about 903 is we held scorers like the killer bees and the thunder chickens to 2 tube (watch videos from the detroit regional and the west michigan regional)

I was excited to see that 250 is in the same division as 1902. I hope we can have at least one match on the same alliance just for the cheering alone. The possibility of hearing "PIGGY PIGGY PIGGY! OINK OINK BOOM!" just makes my spine tingle.:D
Whatever you say, make sure the facts support your argument, look through 1114's 2007 Scouting Information ,
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/1975?
From a quick glance, I would say 25, 45, 103, 123, 217, 250, 503, 540, 1126, 1730, 1902

Team 401 was ranked 14th at VCU. We have a great lifter and can score tubes, but had some trouble at VCU. However, we have tweaked a bit and are able to score a bit faster and will attempt to score keepers in autonomous mode, with use of 6 different auto modes on our switch box. Our best match at VCU was match 60. Check it out on our homepage: www.team401.org and click on the video in the middle.

There is nothing fake about it. It has been determined that this is definitively how they do [at least the first set of] qualifying matchups.
Try it yourself; take any regional's team list, divide it into three groups by team number (putting extras on the last one or two groups), then just split every two lines. Go to the FIRST website's match results for that regional and you'll see that you have just calculated the first couple matches in a simple Excel sheet.

i better be getting a phone call at what time your matches are boy! make your alumni proud and show me some matches.
Well, the two teams that I've seen in action kick some serious behind scoring-wise were 100 and 254, and they're not under the Galileo division.
I can't wait to see how the G division pans out. I'm not going to speculate, since, as somebody else said, there's probably going to be improvements upon the robots for Championships, plus perhaps some team could just happen to come out of the woodworks and prove themselves.
Like 675 and our bot, Gloria Machina.
Just proposing. ;)

2056 is the real deal. I will predict right now that they are the number 1 seed if the sorting algorithm stays the same as the regionals. If not, they will still be top 8.
I saw them at Waterloo and they were awesome. They can score like nobody's business and can get around defense in a flash.
There are also a lot of high row scorers in this division which will be a plus for the Galileo representatives on Einstein.

Uh wow..
I think that post^ speaks for itself, eh?
Also, I think Paul has a great point. I was shocked when I found out they were a rookie team, their whole design and bot looks almost better than many veteran teams (not to mention the driving skill that they have to go with that bot). They'll be one of the people to benefit from the "Algorithm of Death," it looks like.

I'm not sure winning a regional would be considered "under the radar" ;)
Then again, who knows, you don't make yourselves too public so maybe people won't notice right away. I posted in the Newton thread something about 148 (in my opinion, one of the best robots out there) and someone replied "who?"

From what I see...it's basically a 1:2:2 relationship between Ramp-only, Ringer-only, and Hybrid.
Knowing this...will the matches still end up defensive? With so much great offense, will defense be a factor in the elims? And what does this mean going into Einstein?
Looks like we managed to get in the fun division. 250, Xcats, SparX, Division by zero... it feels like FLR all over again.
And we aren't an official xerox team, but we are generously sponsored and housed by xerox, especially after winning vegas this year

I don't think we will ever hold Championships on Easter Weekend. Some Catholic School teams might not be able to go. Plus, the Georgia Dome is booked with the New Birth Easter Service. (http://www.gwcc.com/calendar/dome.html) I'm not sure if that is webcast :D

I suppose my biggest surprise was that 503 AND 79 were both available when we got to the 8th seed. I was standing there looking down the line and thinking to myself "Wow, theres no way that they both are still around". I loved our alliance, sorry for the arm breaking in the finals guys, but we had a great run.

Biggest surprise for me was my team, 1712. We came into this event really low key, and didn't expect to get as far as we did. We did extremely well in Philly, coming out 4th seed, but eliminated in the quarter-finals by 341 and 84's alliance. With such great teams as 25, 45, 103, 217, 341... and the list goes on, we had low expectations. We joked that we were going to be on top of everyone, but it didn't really sink in until the end of friday.
Ending the qualifying matches seeded 6th among some of the greatest teams in the world was one of the most exhilarating things for our crew of 12 that came to Atlanta. To go from being unknown for this years competition to making it to the Semi-finals on the Galileo field in than two weeks was something that we could have never imagined. It really meant the world to our drivers, our mentors, and everyone that was a part of our team. It was a truly amazing experience for all of us.
