4 small CIMs installed into 2 integrated AndyMark 2 speed transmissions
8 IFI traction wheels (4) 4 inch x 2 inch (4) 4 inch x 1 inch
Ground Clearance - ~ .5" but has protruding wheels in front and back and can climb up to a 40 degree angle have climbed up many ramps as long as there are no lips in the middle of the ramp
Capabilities:
Plays Strong offense (Can score as many as 6-8 a match without defense, atleast 4 with defense)
Plays strong defense (We can also play defense but plan to stay on offense as long as there are rings to hang)

Team 1636 - Reds Robotics
Colorado Regional Winner #3(allianced with 555, 1583)
General Motors Industrial Design Award
15th seed
Picture: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/26988
4 ft. 120 lbs.
Drive Train: Standard, two transmissions(AndyMark), two motors(CIM), four FIRST KOP wheels
we have a clearance of over 3-4", so bascially, we can climb any ramp or lift
Our chassis driver has been reliable at every single time we had to get onto the ramp
(if your ramp is more than 45 degrees, if possible, be nice to climb a ramp with some sort of traction-ex. grip tape)
Offense:
We on average score 4 to 5 rings on our own
-Arm is a garage door opener with a polycarbonate gripper/claw, very reliable and has not broken yet
-Arm is raised by the use of a jack lift we added a motor to.
-our drivers have excellent communication when scoring each tube
can score on all three levels
Ramp:
-50 degree slope, has grip tape on it for added traction
-requires other bot to have a minimum 2.5" clearance (If bot had traction wheels, perfect)
-platform holds one bot 12"
-has no guard rail at edge of platform to stop bot from launching off platform if bot goes on ramp at full speed, nor are their guides on ramp
Ramp loads on wide side.
-ramp is 25" out so that if it accidently falls down, we can keep playing because it doesn't exceed 72", won't cause field damage if we drive around with it down - plus or else we'd be overweight
Defense: with me and Julian driving, we play incredible defense - when on defense, me and Julian never even talk, we just do our thing and it works
Autonomous: none
# of Breakdowns: 0, our robot can take many impacts(trust me we can, we kept using the 2006 bot and using it to beat up the 2007 bot until 07 was indestructable-or close to it:rolleyes: )

SF 2-2 (http://www.soap.circuitrunners.com/2007/movies/on/on_sf2m2.wmv)
Looks really bad, doesn’t it? Not really bad at all, though – everything folded up just fine afterward - just one bad hinge on our leg – beefier hinges cure all. One hinge away from GTR finals…..ah well.
Height/Weight Class:
48”/120 lbs.
Drivetrain:
Andy-Mark Gen2 Servo Shifters
2 small CIM motors per gearbox (4 total)

Top Speeds - ~11 ft/s (High Gear), ~4 ft/s (Low Gear)
Ramp:
Bi-fold ramp/platform system – easy 2 @ 12 capability
Attached guide rails on both outside and inside edges for straighter climbing, Stop guide at end of platform to prevent accidental falls. Inside edges adjustable via persuasion if needed to provide greater clearance.
Dietrich Ultrasteel ramp decking very resilient and strong – CNC hole pattern adds weight savings and additional traction
Ramp Angle of Ascent- 14.5 degrees
Platform Dimensions - 13" high by 34" wide
Requires 1/2" of clearance minimum to climb
Time to Fully Deploy - 6 seconds – many documented 2 @ 12 ramps within final endgame time

Category: 4 ft. 120.0 lbs
Drivetrain:
4 small CIMs using the Banebots 56mm Transmissions
4 Wheel Drive with 2 Andymark Kit Wheels (6 inch) and 2 Andymark Omni Wheels (6 inch)
Gyro assistance to help with driving straight (unused at AZ, but we'll add it on for the Championships just because we can)
Track width ~24"
Ground clearance 2"-2.5"
Has successfully climbed 20 degree ramps and been lifted with a forklift style lifter
Top Speed of 12 ft/s
Arm:
Successfully scores on all 3 levels
Decent scoring ability, put up 2 tubes most of Saturday at AZ. Problems in initial claw design had led to some very bad scoring early on (was a 2 pronged claw, now is currently 3 pronged to grip tubes better).
Loads from the ground.
Utilizes automatic arm positioning to make my job easier. Buttons for ground pickup, as well as 3 goal heights are used.
Ramp:
Ramp on one side with a 21 degree incline. Initially is 36" wide for an easier entry, then "funnels" down to a ~28" wide platform. A platform folds down on the opposite side of the ramp to allow for holding 2 robots, with another extension that flips out the end so both can be completely off the ramp. 2 inch guide rail along all sides of the ramp, and a 3 inch high backstop to keep robots from driving off. There is enough clearance and ramp space to fit both robots with bumpers attached. Only works with long robots (no 38" wide guys), and has a slit in the middle of the platform portion which causes impedence to omni-drive bots.
Platform portion is 13" high and ~80" long.
Capable of lifting 2 robots at 12", proven to lift 1 at 30 easily. Two climbing hasn't been done yet, the only matches where we've ramped have had one partner that lost power on the field or were incapable of climbing our ramps due to drivetrain or groundclearance.
Autonomous:
Arm positioning proven to work, at a minimum we will position our arm to be ready for tube pickup.
Fix-it-window work seems to have solved problems seen with camera usage for driving. Also tested ability to turn and drive using gyro and encoders.
Planned autonomous goals include: scoring on front spider leg, scoring on either side spider leg, scoring on opposing alliance's front spider leg, picking up a far ringer in autonomous mode, and if the gods are willing, scoring said far tube.

4' 11" - 110 lbs.
Quick Summary: Simple (only four motors and two pistons) hybrid, stronger as a ramp bot, but can score a few ringers.
Drive
2x CIM (1 per side) with BB 12:1 gearboxes.
Custom-manufactured hardened carriers (do not have short pin issues).
6WD with 8" Skyway pneumatic wheels, 3" ground clearance, ~8fps
Can climb a 30-degree ramp.
Arm
Powered by FP + 256:1 BB gearbox (+ custom machined carrier) + 72:10 additional reduction.
2-joint with simple stick-like end effector.
Relative effectiveness of scoring: middle, bottom, top.
Boston: scored 2-3 per match on middle/botton row when utilized.
Ramp
Narrow-orientation (28") with guide rail that can be lowered or taken off to accomodate side bumpers.
Ramp + Platform will fit 2 robots without bumpers, 1 or 1.5 (12" + 4") with bumpers.
Designed to passively elevate one robot (20-degree ramp) and actively elevate the second (ramp lifted by 2 pneumatic pistons). Can also actively lift a 2WD or low ground clearance robot that can't clear the top ramp edge.
Boston: mostly single passive lifts, a few single active lifts, and one double (passive + active) for 45 points.
At Boston, we were mainly used as a ramp bot, although occassionally we got to put the arm to good use and add on a few ringers. We can also play defense - won't win a pushing match but it's maneuverable enough to get in the way and hard to push through (especially sideways). Autonomous is defensive or setup. Good reliability (no major problems at Boston).
Good luck!!

We've got some updated Buckeye and GTR vids on The Blue Alliance, and hopefully soon some Pittsburgh video.
The green arrow next to a match indicates you can click to download. The filmstrip icon means you can click and view online.
TBA Buckeye Videos (http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/matchlist.php?eventid=29)
TBA Greater Toronto Videos (http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/matchlist.php?eventid=40)
Some of the vid/audio on the Buckeye elimination vids is a bit dicey, but at least it provides an alternate perspective of the action relative to the stuff I posted on YouTube and Google Video. Many Curie teams can be found on the videos linked in the above pages.
Here is one vid I wanted to add to the list of vids the other, infinitely cooler Team 48 Travis mentioned in his previous post. The following is the match Koko Ed referred to (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=603812&postcount=100) in the Buckeye Regional thread:

Cool another 8 wheel drive bot on the Curie field. I had only seen 1 other this year besides us.

It's not quite how it sounds. We have one wheel in each of the four corners and then we have two wheels on each side position right next to each other. I don't have a good picture of it but it would look something like this

I was wondering where the 7th and 8th wheels were... You guys were great at WMR (I don't remember GLR much because we were finishing our robot)...
I also know one of your mentors/parents...he taught me control systems when I was getting my EE degree at LTU...
I love your robot...

You guys were great at WMR (I don't remember GLR much because we were finishing our robot)...You guys didn't exactly do to bad yourselves. ;) I'm looking forward to seeing you perform at Atlanta. We were basically doing the same thing you were at Yipsi. Sometimes I wonder if we don't treat Yipsi as three days of practice matches.
I also know one of your mentors/parents...he taught me control systems when I was getting my EE degree at LTU... Which mentor are you referring to?

Does anyone have any pictures/video of 469 after they changed their gripper?

Team: 527, The red dragons
4' -> 119.97 lbs + 15 lbs for bumpers
Drive
* 4x CIM (2 per side) with andymark gearboxes
* 6WD with 12" pneumatic wheels, 5" ground clearance with bumpers
* Can climb a 30-degree ramp.
Arm
* Powered by a minibike CIM with a custom gearbox, ABSOLUTELY no backdrive.
* Arm rotates up from a pivot in the back and extends out, gripper on the front grabs tubes, tube cannot be knocked out. The gripper also pushes tubes onto the spider, rather then just place them.
* scores: middle(preferred), bottom, top
* SPBLI: Scored 2-3 Tubes while being double teamed, 3-4 while only defended by 1 robot. and max we scored was 7 (6 ringers, 1 spoiler)
We have a verry powerful arm (just look at the motor :D ), we score consistently and can drive up most ramps. Our drive train is powerful and fast(I'm the driver, trust me it's quick). We can pick up tubes from the floor, the wall, or over the top of the driver station VIA human players.

- I think it's kinda funny that there are 2 teams in curie that are named the red dragons =D
Team: 1510 Westview Wildcats
Robot name: Red K.I.S.S.
Arm: we have a two joint arm. Pots on both top and bottom arm. Can reach every height in ideal situations but has a strength of middle and bottom. Can pick up from ground (faster than Portland if you saw us there, we made modifications), and can also do human loading (over the wall)
Autonomous: Currently working at 100% after 5-7 tries. Hopefully Thursday we'll get a better idea if it still works as efficiently (I'm thinking yes). Uses camera tracking and pot values to align arm and robot successfully
Ramp: No ramp, but can climb up to 30 degrees (tested wise). Tested on the 30 degree ramp from last year and it was successful. Due to alliance randomization we didn't have much chance to do it in a match because of failure to deploy, ramp coming back to late, or not having a ramp at all. I look forward to climbing some ramps in Curie
We have high speeds, but can't push very well. Using the 12:1 banebot gearbox provided in the kits. Six wheel drive. We choose to avoid more than to have a pushing fest since pushing just (imho) wastes too much time. We were having problems with tubes in our wheels (as well as other robots) but we'll be placing bumpers (plastic covers) on our wheels on thursday to prevent that from happening any more...
I'm a little afraid of saying that our robot is working fine and autonomous is great, because as you all know, unexpected things happen and i don't want to look cocky <_<. This is the info on the robot as of Sunday in San Diego, and if the robot isn't working as i've said, well then i'm sorry.
Can't wait to see you guys all there. Two days eh? (tomorrow for uncrating)
I'm so very excited
