View Full Version : 2007 Championship
This is where anything about Championship 2007 can be talked about. I can only help that this will allow some teams and FIRSTer’s to find out up to date facts about what is happening in Atlanta.
I’m sure that I’m not the only one who is going to be unable to see the matches so I am asking anyone who can to post match results, awards, events, pictures/videos, or anything that will help us all be able to see how teams are doing, to please do so. Since I can’t go, I cannot personally help with this but I would appreciate it if others could help.
Once again thanks to all who can help me out. Good luck to all teams at Atlanta!

sorry i cannot help with you on all the things that you want but i can tell you that you should definaetly keep a look out for TEAM 1885 they went to both Las Vegas and VCU regional. both time they made it to the finals and both times were struck with signal failures to them or other alliance teammates they have since fixed that problem. Thaye have a rovck solid double ramp design that is easy to asscend and reliable. I have heard through rumor they just developed a newer design to score on both the medium and low goals that should bump their scoring up from an average of three a match and then returning to the home zone to deploy there awsome ramps.
they should do very well and i hope that they go all the way but it just matters on which team wants it more.

Updates from someone who's there would be great; I'll be stuck in school on Friday. Text message updates from friends who are there should keep me from going entirely nuts, but...:) Luckily, at least one teacher has already relented and said I can watch the webcast in her class; I think I can convince one other teacher, as well. We'll see.
Good luck to everyone going!

Remind me to text you, I don't have that much class on friday.
I, too, am stuck here. I can watch the webcast fairly often, but I know that it is going to drive me crazy to not be able to tell what is going on.

hmm... is it possible that anyone has the Curie match list for the day? It might make it easier rather than waiting for Mrs. Lamotte to check her voicemail.
If you don't, it's okay. I'll just glue my face to the screen XD
Since I had trouble viewing the webcasts today, could anyone tell me some of the winners of any matches that they know?

Since I had trouble viewing the webcasts today, could anyone tell me some of the winners of any matches that they know?I assume that you are talking about FRC? If so, today is practice only and we will not have match lists until tomorrow, I think.
FVC has qualifying matches today however, if that is what you are speaking about but I don't have any match results.

Would you be able to post the match list tomorrow when you get it?
I don't think FIRST will have them on their website, and it would really help the webcast viewers!!!

Wow, I don't know how I could as there are 4 different divisions and about 350 teams.
However, if you can tell me hopefully just 1 team, I will try to list their matches, again I will try. I am sending this message from the Atlanta First pits on the Autodesk laptops.
If I find some place online that has the match list I will let you know but I would have to doubt that it would be there.
Incidently, I am friends with Guy from Israel team #1574. Their robot looks very good in practice so far.

Usually, the match list goes up on the FIRST website in the 'Match Results (http://www2.usfirst.org/2007comp/events/curie/matchresults.html)' page.
You can get that for every division on this (http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=432&menu_id=80)page.
It should all be available once the field control system for each field syncs to the FIRST website.

For regionals, it (usually) only goes up once the matches have been played, not before.
If ANYONE at championships has a camera and wants to take and post a bunch of pictures of the match schedule, the webcast viewers will be eternally grateful.
Gah, its almost worse being on Spring Break and watching from across the country...
Waiting for that match scedual. :)

That was great, if there was no webcast or anything....but a lot of people (like myself) are stuck at school and want to watch our teams play, not just know how they did after the fact. It'd be really awesome if someone, or FIRST, could post the list like they have in years past.

I agree, I'm keeping track of four teams; I'd love to try and catch them play tomorrow, but it'll be kind of hard without a list.

Hey guys. There is a website that might help solve your problems.:D :D
http://www.soap108.com
It has videos of all the regionals and the matches in Atlanta. You may have to wait a while for the videos of the Atlanta Competition to be updated though.
Seeing as I am stuck Watching the web cast also it would be nice to have the list ahead of time....but I Am 98% Sure the match list isn't released until Friday morning...I could ask one of our teams mentors to post it tomorrow but time is valuable so I doubt it...unless some one else can take the time to post it(not sure of the WiFi Situation In the pits).

But it doesn't solve our problem of not being able to watch them live without watching every single match.
If anyone is watching FVC, squirrel just posted (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=616349&postcount=9) photos of the match schedule in another thread.

Looked pretty good in Curie as well. My team may've lost 4, but at least they fought every single match. I couldn't ask for more from my team ^_^ I miss them.

I didn't realize how hard it would be to find my teams. Each arena is like a regional with 86 people in them. Tons of matches but each team only gets about 4 games. With my school schedule, I was only able to watch the webcasts during lunch and 4th period. I only caught 4 matches I was looking for. Pretty great competition though.
Team I'm cheering for isn't doing so well either, didn't see them move in the last match, hope they're ok. In the meen time, go 100! I'm sure you've fixxed whatever broke. Should be just as exciting tomorrow as well. =D

I was watching that match. I was so dissapointed to see the robot stop.:(
Does anyone know how to get the results for FLL today? I was watching all of the FRC matches that I could and didn't get to see any of our local team's (2066) matches.

I tried watching matches from Newton and Archimedes but the first 20 or so from each of them are really poor quality videos. Kinda like a slideshow with sound. And after a while my video player quit playing them because it said they were corrupted.:( Has anybody else tried and had these problems or is it just a problem with my computer?

After about 15 seconds it quits out, says the player isn't compatible. However, some of the others I can watch.
You know, its interesting how fast your heart beats during those matches. I mean I wasn't even there and I could feel the intensity of the match. My heartbeat is just now coming back to a normal speed. I plan to sleep tonight but I can almost guarantee that I won't be getting any sleep. I'm too anxious to see Saturday!

I am very pleased with the amount of ringers and keepers being scored in contrast to the regional first day qualifiers. There were multiple 100+ scores per division and many were getting the rack 3/4 full. This regularity also led to more spoiler play, which is just fantastic :).
The level of play today just makes me anxious for the insanity of the elimination rounds coming up. The level of competition always builds across an event and this one has already started at a very high level.

as expected so far, all the top teams we played in two tough regionals, NJ and LV, are ALL undefeated so far!!!! ex. 254, 25, and 1425. So is 330.
If 25 or 1425 make it as the #1 seed, they will be deadly as teammates vs. 254 and 233 as teammates vs 330 and 1114. If those teams make it to Einstein out the respective divisions, it will be a battle to REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!
The other team that I was highly impressed with that we lost to due to ramps in LV is team 79. They can score very well and their drivers are awesome.

Its official. Teams 190, 177, and 987 have won the Championship in 3 matches (Final score of the final match: 59 - 54). Congratulations! You guys played great!

I am highly dissapointed with Championships this year. I am upset for many reasons, none of which are due to any performance of any team that I am affiliated with. They are FIRST oriented problems that I will probably get into on a later date, now I am too tired and need to eat. I have seen the Copioli light, or at least one of a different shade.
Let down,

Yeah I won something, but seriously congrats to Team 190, 177 and 987 for winning it all and for prooving that Newton was the superior division. Team 573 had a blast and even though we didn't get to eliminations (if you can believe it) we had a great time. Can't wait to see what FIRST comes up with for next year. Plus the the whole DARPA thing was super cool! (Stanley Rocks!)
Both teams 190 and 987 were at Silicon Valley - proving one again we're the regional that leads to Einstein.
I am still shocked that 190, 987, and 177 pulled it off. I was rooting for pink (233), and also wanted to see BEATTY (71) get their 5th, but congrats to 177! Shocked! Never expected them to go that far.
On another note, the ref'ing at this year's Championship was absolute garbage. The calls were stupid. And again, I am shocked! I would not have thought this aspect of the competition would have been a problem.

Videos from Einstein (http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/matchlist.php?eventid=50) are making their way onto The Blue Alliance Match Archive System (http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/), and video from all of the divisions will be added over the next two days. There's almost 500 matches to convert, so bear with us, but check out Einstein in the mean time!

I have to agree with you on this one Joel. From everything I saw, and all the complaints I'm hearing, I've never seen as bad an event. Each field had their own little quirks about matches, and each field really didn't seem to be running as most regionals did. There were tons of uncalled penalties. It was disgusting really.

This is certainly team 2024 from Hilo, HI, as Alex mentioned.
They are a fantastic group of people and one of my biggest regrets from this weekend was never having the chance to watch them compete on the field. Their war dance is, without a doubt, the best pre-match hype I've ever seen at a FIRST event.
