Current Events?

It seems that in the chit-chat forum there is a very fun atmosphere. A majority of the forum seems to be a bit laid back and very loose. But when there is discussion about a serious current event, it seems kind of insulting to the event discussed that how serious it may be, it is grouped with jokes.

I [as well as others (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=618054&postcount=22)] was wondering that if it would be possible to add a "Current Events" or a "General Discussion" forum under the "Other" category to show some respect to these topics/events?

I agree. Not only would it separate the groups, it would also make finding threads about current events easier to find.
