Feature Request: CD-Media-to-post integration

So I found myself linking a series of pictures off CD-Media in a thread. For each one, it took a separate link.

This got me thinking: there's got to be a better way to show a series of pictures from CD-Media in posts. (I'm talking about linking here, not the discussion thread of a particular picture.)

First, would it be possible to let thumbnails get added to posts in place of the current links through some new vB code? Say, for example, 25906 displayed:

(25906, for those playing at home, is the ID number of that picture in CD-Media.)

As someone who's used the iLife browser in Pages, a way to browse through the CD-Media images (say, by tag or from favorites) and embed them while posting would be amazing. But today isn't Make Brandon Work Day (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=260242#post260242), so I won't press my luck. ;)

There is a vbcode already in use in the discussion threads .. I could add another for thumbnails, and also provide 'add-to-clipboard' links on each images page, if you wanted. This works for "photo" and in the future, "paper"

I've never used iLife or Pages, but if I'm getting what you're saying, you'd like a thumbnail or two, and some navigation links under them; the navigation links would switch pictures, without reloading the page? The 3 images that are randomly shown at the top of an event on CD-Events will "some day" be an Ajax-powered slideshow, showing more than just 3; I just ran out of time when I was implementing and put 3 randomly up there.

What came to mind was to have some searching options in the upper pane (where the iPhoto drop-down is located). This would be where folks could search, find by tag/uploader, or browse their favorites. Click the image, and it's inserted in the post.

And, obviously, make it look like CD instead of Mac OS X.

Ahh -- I gotcha. I'll keep that in mind for future enhancements.
