I decided to start my own league this year:
Yahoo! Fantasy Football
League ID Number: 20012
Password: robotsrobots
Spots Available: 13
Current League Settings:
Max. # teams: 16
Play-offs: Weeks 15-17 and 8 team bracket
LIVE Draft Date and Time: August 12th @ 7 pm (subject to change)
Trade Deadline: November 17th
Trade Reviews: League Votes w/ 1 day reject time (subject to change)
Roster Positions: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, 1 D, 1 DL, 1 DB, and 6 Bench Players
I know some may think this is WAY too early but this way we can get some details worked out with plenty of time before the season starts.
I'm open to any changes or suggestions to the league.
Here are some contacts if you have any questions/comments/concerns:
AIM Screen name: byersl2006
E-mail: byersl2006@yahoo.com
And of course, you can send me a private message here on Chief.
Let the games begin.
What's the maximum amount of teams in the league?

Sorry, forgot to mention that...
16 but if needed we can have up to 20.
We'll have to see how many people are interested and how the first 16 teams feel about adding teams.

so the joy and madness of fantasy football starts!

I'd reccomend 16. There's only so many quarterbacks available..
ANd ALex you need to stay out of Eddie's league.
'bout time one of you two started acting like a grown up in the league and this is the most obvious way to do it!

Ugh, it just keeps getting earlier and earlier. I'll probably start a new thread for this later, but until then:

Right now, the settings are just the final settings from last year, but are probably going to change. Two things I'll most likely be putting up to a vote at the beginning of August are whether or not to have a live draft, and the trade review system. But that's a looonnnggg way away, so in the meantime, I'll be coming up with an actual team name. :)

On yahoo, I think you can join up to 4. At least that was how it was last year.
Confirmed: 4 leagues maximum on yahoo.

9 days until the draft. 4 spots left in my league, 7 spots left in Eddie's. Get them while they're hot.
I added a another team from my other Yahoo account so we could have an even number of teams.

FIRST Robotics League 2007
Gopher461
Cromer Smash!
Stevies Scapegoats
Evil Trav's Minions
The Huskiers
Indiana Ironmen
BaLlEr FoR rEaL
Turtles
Army Bot
T-Hawks
Nor Cal Crushers
Koko's X-Cats
baconbits
mechanicatz
Week 1
Gopher461 VS. Cromer Smash!
A lot of questions come from this match-up. Will LJ carry the KC load? How will Benson, McGahee, Smith, and Thomas do in new situations/teams? Will Roethlisberger bounce back from a disappointing season?
Stevies Scapegoats VS. Evil Trav's Minions
Joey Harrington and Reuben Droughns aren't going to help Scapegoats causes.
The Huskiers VS. Indiana Ironmen
The Detroit-heavy Huskiers will have their hands full with LT and company.
BaLlEr FoR rEaL VS. Turtles
Defensive players are the game-breaker here. BaLlEr needs some upgrades thanks to Yahoo!'s wonderful player ranking system.
Army Bot VS. T-Hawks
See above, insert T-Hawks.
Nor Cal Crushers VS. Koko's X-Cats
X-Cats have some players with potential, but the edge goes to the Crushers. Key match-up: QB: Bulger vs. Rivers
baconbits VS. mechanicatz
Key match-ups: Brandon Jacobs vs. Ahman Green and Defensive players. Edge goes to baconbits.

I sent out an email, but I'll post it here too.
I think I've made a mistake in the scoring set-up. I'd like to apologize to everyone in the league and propose a couple of possible changes.
Before I give you the possible changes, here is the evidence:
Ben Roethlisberger threw for 161 yards and 4 TDs = 22.64 points
Antonio Gates caught 9 passes for 107 yards and 1 TD = 25.70 points
I don't see these two as equal performances.
So here are some of the options:
A) Change the value of Points/Reception to something else (I'm open to suggestions)
B) Eliminate Points/Reception all together.
C) Suck it up and deal with the points system as is.
I'd like to clean this problem up before the start of Week 2, so tell me what you think about this problem as soon as possible.
