if you're making a potato gun, may i suggest using hair spray and a BBQ starter?

look on ebay....but beware, as usual.

The neat thing is that you can find all kinds of parts that you didn't know existed, then you can search specifically for what you want, once you discover what it really is.

300118790361 is an interesting item, might be too small though.

Sounds like you need a sprinkler control valve. It's electromagnetic, and should not cost you more than $20.00 for one. Input/output is usually 1 inch or 3/4 inch, but you can easily reduce this to 1/2 inch. Check hardware stores in the irrigation department, or just ask for it.

Does anyone know where I could get a manual quick release valve like the parker valve that you just turn the knob thing to release all the air?

thanks, vivek

Check your local hardware store. They should have small ball valves in the plumbing section.

I think you are looking for a ball valve in which case home depot or lowes will have them.
