We got a packet called "Analog Devices Sensor envelope" and another called "Gear Tooth Sensor Envelope." Which is the wheel encoder, if any? How do you wire it? What do the "pins" mean/do?What will they output? Do you need to input anything? (they are actually just solder joints that we soldered leads onto.)

How do you get them to work?!

A full explanation would be very much appreciated, but even if you have just a little idea to get us started would help.

Thanks, Demothesis

The gear tooth sensors can be used as encoders if you put them near a gear or sprocket in your drivetrain. This document will tell you how to wire them up, and also will point you to other documents with application notes:

All right!

Thanks a lot. I'll post back if I have any problems, but that in combination with Kevin's FRC Code repository (if even necessary) seems to be sufficient.

Thanks again, Demothesis
