Jacob Komar was shown on TV (ABC*) this morning for his program Computers for Communities. (Relation to FIRST: they showed him plugging a KOP battery into the robot.) Congratulations Jacob! If anyone has a clip of the segment please post it.

EDIT1:*Apologies for the inaccuracy...My grandmother ABC, I saw CNN, and my grandfather was flipping the channels.
EDIT2: It was ABC because George Stephanopoulos has a show on ABC not CNN.

What an awesome article as well! The photo is wonderful, although I rather like the pinkish red hair that I saw at the Championship.
Did anyone else marvel that Jacob started this at age 9 and did you smile at the gift of the juice box? How cool is that.
He's also on engadget. http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/30/lil-nick-neg-recycles-old-pcs-for-those-in-need/

1500, that's impressive. Let alone starting at the age of nine! Wow!

Thanks for the support!
It was a last minute thing by the George Stephanopoulos show.... they needed that little segment at the end filled, so they called my Thursday and shot Friday :p
I'm surprised that anyone caught it... Noone that I know watches that show. At any rate, I'm glad you caught me in my night-before-scrimmage quandry as to where the battery should go on the robot :D
Also seen is me teaching another student to solder (Casey.. CD Tag: chatterboxx333) I basically sent them almost 100 hours of stock footage that I use for press, and included is a folder called 'robotics'.
At any rate, for those of you who missed it and would like to see it again, here is the link:

There are two videos there (of me). The bottom one is the one that aired, and the top one is the extended version, including the set-up in my house (that was pretty cool. I've never seen a network do that before. They actually brought in a lo-def camera and set it up before they set anything else up... and then sped it up!)
Thanks for the support!

No problem man. I was in the hospital and my grandfather wanted to watch the news and we saw you and I'm like, "That kid on TV is my friend from Robotics," (translated for you guys :D), and he and my grandmother were VERY surprised.
Anyways if you need any help let me know! I know how to solder, and I am pretty sure some other people on my team and other people on other teams' wouldn't mind to spend a few hours a week or month helping ya! Its a good thing you've started, keep it up!
