So who's going? Team 558, the Elm City Robo Squad, is planning to go for the first time ever! Actually, it will be our first off season event ever. We are desperately hunting for new mentors, and have invited some interested engineers to accompany us. The team is really looking forward to it. Hope to see you all there!

I'll be there if I get enough people interested in a NEMO workshop. Send me your name, FIRST program (FRC, FTC, FLL or JFLL), team number, and what topic interests you.

I was kinda dissapointed to not see an announcment about it anywhere here on CD, so I had to hunt it down.

After that was done, I signed us up. Team 237 will see everyone there!

We have gone 2 of the last 3 years. Its a great event, run by great teams.
However this year it conflicts with Duel on the Delaware, an event that we attend every year.

So good luck to all of the teams attending the Bash. You will have an awesome time!

Like I said, we're new to this off season thing. Can someone explain to me how the autopicked alliance thing works?

First seed is paired with 9th, 2nd with 10th. 3rd with 11th and so on until the 8th seed. Your last partner is picked randomly from the remaining pool. Usually 24 teams show up and it works out nicely.

195, we will miss you, too. Uberbots, glad to see you're going. We heard at Championships this year how well you guys were doing, and were rooting for you in our hearts over at Curie.

Thanks! We almost made it, too... but I have to admit, 190, 177, and 987 really deserved that win. Plus they looked great in their monochromatic color scheme. (-; We were glad to see that you made it to the Championships- I remember you guys initially thought you weren't going to be able to go.

Yeah, we were very surprised to have won our regional and qualify for the first time to attend the championship. It caught us unawares, and with absolutely NO money to go to Atlanta. Thanks to some hard work by our team members, and our two primary sponsors, Yale and UI, we came up with the dough and were able to take 13 students down. What an experience!!!! We were delighted to have finished 15th in Curie and were picked in the first round to join an alliance. Unfortunately, we had to face our mutual friends 195 in the quarterfinal round, and they defeated us. All in all, though, it was a great experience for our kids, and although they were disappointed I think they were proud of all they had accomplished. Heck, most of them had never been out of CT before!!!

See you on the 13th.

Denise

I will be facilitating a NEMO meeting at the lunch break - please let all your team mentors know so they plan to attend. The room location will be posted at the team registration table.

Questions I'll bring up at the meeting:

What bugs you about your team or about FIRST?
What non-technical areas do you have the most concerns about?
What can we do to help each other?

I hope we can get some lively conversation going at our meeting!
