Folks,
I find it difficult to quickly scan through the official FIRST FTC Q&A, so a couple of nights ago I cut and pasted all the items that exist for the "Game" and "Robot" sections into the attached text file. It's ugly, but it is easy to search and is compact when you print it.
They are not! a substitute for digging into the official Q&A Forum regularly, but they are a handy snapshot of what is in them right now.
Enjoy,
Blake
MD, DC, and Virginia teams (and PA? DE? NJ? WV?),

The Nov 17th, Battlefield HS / PVL Quad Quandary Tournemant is just 2 weeks away.
Rings are being painted and TWO fields are being readied for matches ....

To everyone who came to the Battlefield HS / PVL tournament today - GREAT JOB!
To everyone who missed it... You missed a good time. :-) I think everyone who entered agrees that it was $20 well-spent.
I hope everyone who came had a great time and that you are all using what you learned to either prepare for a FIRST FTC Championship (UVA Dec 1st or CSM Feb 23rd), or for the next PVL event (watch this thread and/or the www.RobotEvents.com web site to stay up to date on the PVL events).
24 robots ( wow!) played FIRST's Quad Quandary during the day, on two fields. Between 9:30 and 1:30, each team got to enjoy 7 qualification matches; and the alliance-draft sent the top 8 and their chosen allies (8 alliances of 2 teams each) into the single-elimination elimination-rounds that crowned the kings/queens of the hill.
Middle Schools, High Schools, 4-H Clubs and other independent teams came from as far away as Carroll County Maryland, Spotsylvania Virginia and Deep Run Virginia to mix it up with Prince William County Virginia teams. They arrived with tricked out squarebots, claw-toting custom chassis, a holonomic entry, and variations on the perennially popular conveyor belt designs; and they all appeared to have a good time learning, competing, and cooperating.
Some of the simple design were surprisingly effective in this early season event... Some of the more sophisticated designs were executed well enough to be worth the effort too. I think everyone realizes that this was a good tune up, and that now they need to turn things up a notch for their FIRST Championships...
See you at UVA in Charlottesville Nov 30th and Dec 1st for the FIRST FTC Virginia Championship!
