does any one know it a vex controller can take temperature measurement and if so what device would be most accurate. thank you

I've had good luck with this sensor before:

You should be able to interface it directly to an analog I/O port on the Vex controller.

What range of temps are you looking at? How much accuracy do you need. How fast will the system temp be changing (Delta T).

I'll bet it has to do with measuring the temperature of the water in the vicinity of the "serum"

There is a temperature sensor on the KOP Gyro board from 06/07.

That was a pretty random feature to add... I didn't even know that was there!

Hmm... maybe I'll add a "External Temperature" gauge to the OI pannel this year...

I believe it could be used to offset the gyro's reading based on temp (because temp affects it)... At least that is what one mentor was telling me.

I dont have the datasheet on hand but that would make sense. If temperature affects the output of gyro it makes sense that they would tell you what the temperature was so that you could calculate the actual rotation.

yes sir you are completly right ive started my own team with quite a bit of success my organization name it P.I.U.E(Project for Improving Underwater Exploration) wer just a small team but i believe the members are what make us a good team since we all think out side tha triangle.

ps thank you for the great sujestions and this temp probe will be for undewaterand i want it to be as accurate as possible while keeping my the robot simple along with the code within it but i am open to any sujestions at this point have a good day every one!!!
