Well it is about that time. TIme to wipe vista from my new computer and install windows XP. But when I put my XP pro disk in it tells me it can't do anything because that version of windows is older than my current one. I figure I can use a partition manager to wipe the partition then just install XP from there. But the problem is that I don't have a partition manager.

Any ideas...?

Thanks.

Format or partition using a live linux CD.

Better yet, restart the computer through the XP disc and then delete your partition that you all ready have. I ran into this problem before and that always seems to do the trick. Make sure before you do that though that you can find all of your drivers so then you won't get stuck with a half working computer.

I figured it out right after I posted, I didn't think to check the boot order in BIOS.

Sorry for the useless thread.

Glad you found the answer, now I'll know to do that when I downgrade. :D

Even though you already have the answer, I always love keep one of these bootable discs (http://www.killdisk.com/) around.
