Anyone camping out this year?

Any great deals you're targeting?

I ventured forth early on Black Friday last year not so much to buy but to observe humanity in its most primal form. Quite interesting. :D

I've been looking for a good deal on a digital SLR camera. Currently, no such deals are jumping out--nothing that beats Amazon. Hopefully, some folks will tip their hands tomorrow.

As I was driving home last night, I passed a sign on the highway while going by a mall. It read: "Parking lots open at 11pm on Thanksgiving." Might as well pass up Thanksgiving dinner, and tailgate at the mall. (BBQ turkey anyone?) :p

Usually on Black Friday I try to stay far away any shopping areas, but I need to get a birthday present for my mom (for Monday). I'm also looking for a good digital SLR, but have avoided looking at any ads. Just the idea of trying to shop on Friday is pretty scary, having done it before.

i was hoping that the panasonic dslr would win in the customer votes thing that amazon has going on. 500 for a camera that usually sells for 1200 is not bad, but they only have 500 at that price and it goes to random voters
but it looks the $79 for wii is going to win on day one

Everything & Anything Black Friday:

As for me.. idk yet. I may get ambitious Thursday night and make plans with some family/friends to venture out on Friday, but then again I have that truck of mine I need to move some time this weekend as well.. so.. who knows?

Lots of websites which list the Black Friday deals... before the ads come out tomorrow. I like this one (http://forums.slickdeals.net/forumdisplay.php?sduid=0&f=24)because of its sortable spreadsheet. My new camera (Sony S700) is on sale at our local Sam's Club on Fri at only $89.83 - a good deal for a nice camera for someone like me who doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles.

I absolutely love Black Friday at one of the Nations largest Malls!

This year, I am looking for nothing special. However, on Saturday I will be moving into my new house, and I am looking for good deals on housewares.

I personally haven't seen anything worth camping out for this year. I think last years deals were better. But maybe that's because I didn't find and LCD HDTV's for the size and price I was expecting then to go for on Black Friday.

I'm camping out. Not to purchase anything, but to mock the people who camp out to do that. About 6-10 of my friends and I will try to get to the first of the line, and then stay in front of a store from 10 thanksgiving til 5 a.m. Black Friday.

We've got some fun games we'll play... but lets just leave it at that.

GL everyone.

Meh, I've never been one to attend or observe one of these frightful days. Not that I didn't want to, but usually we're still at home or a family member's house. Might go and camp at City View to watch people make fools of themselves. Just started a new job, so I don't have enough money to do some shopping early this year.

The only thing I am doing on Black Friday is going to the Celthics/Lakers game (and possibly looking for fruit flies).

Orange Box for $25 at Best Buy, with a $25 gift card I found under my bed last night. I can't wait; I would probably pay $40 for Portal alone, but then also getting TF2 and HL2 episodes (already have HL2 itself), incredible.

Might also pick up the Logitech MX Revolution mouse they've got for $50 (normally a ~$100 mouse). Spilled something on mine a while back and it's just not the same anymore.

I already have a Wii, but the $80 deal sounds unbelievable, I would definitely recommend that to anyone who doesn't have one yet.

Where is this deal happening?
it was some voting thing that amazon.com had, people would vote on which item should win, day 1 (today) had wii for 79, ps3 149 and 360 for 149, and the winning item would be on sale for that day, but you had to be randomly selected in order to buy the item, 5 days left for the voting thing

I trying to find a great deal on a Wii and the new Ipod Nano.Check out store.apple.com tomorrow for sales, if you weren't one of the twenty lucky people to get the discounted items at Best Buys/Circuit City/Sears/etc. at 5am. Last Black Friday, iPod Nanos were about $30 off at the Apple Store.

explain more?Best Buys is selling Wii's for only $79 on Black Friday! :yikes:

Edit: I cannot find confirmation of the $79 dollar Wii deal online; I saw the ad in a local newspaper flyer this morning.

hmm, I was hoping that this Best Buy lead would pan out, but it seems that it's nowhere to be found. Appears to only be valid for this Amazon gig.

Just picked up my copy of The Orange Box!! HL2, Episode 1 &2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2, all for 25 bucks. They were sold out of my mouse but I actually found it online for a cheaper BF price (and free shipping), so I'm still getting it in the end.

It was slightly depressing though, driving on my way there (I got up at 5:30, early enough to get in early but late enough to avoid lines) and people were calling in on the radio talking about their plasma TVs for $99 and laptops for $250 and everything else under the sun.

217th post :D

was up at 3:30am, dropped off the kids at Circuit City at 4:15; stood in a short line at Sam's Club where I not only got what I wanted, but also a free breakfast... before heading back up to the Circuit City line where the kids were FROZEN because they were an hour and a half waiting in line... scored some good buys on DVDs and a couple other things... and bought the big present back home online!

Got up at 4:00, was at Staples by 4:20. Repelled a band of rushers trying to skip past the whole waiting hours in line thing at 6:00, and was out by 6:45 with a 4 GB Cruzer Micro ($17, a nice trade up from my 1 GB Cruzer Micro that I bought last year), a 2 GB CompactFlash card for a camera I will be getting soon ($15), and a 500 GB external hard drive ($80 after rebates) that I'm undecided about keeping.

I saw many deals for 500GB HD for $100 or less.:)

A couple years ago I paid over that to buy a 160GB HD and an external case for it.

I spent Black Friday sleeping in!

I went shopping at Walmart at around 7pm and got some food to eat. Wallyworld was still packed with people!

I have enough stuff and I am pretty much always up at 4am no matter what day it is.

So do tell what deals you all got!

I was like one of a few people at Pepboys (like 10 people even though they had some of the best deals in my area). Got a nice wrench set(9), digital photo frame(40), and a GPS(80) for my car for good prices. The got some memory foam pillows at target for 10 a piece and a few dvds. My mom picked up a couple of coffee/tea makers for like 20 bucks, one for a gift and one for me to take to college next year. Black friday was fun. Target was cool because they handed out gift bags at the one i went to for free with a little stuffed animal, coffee, animal crackers, and an oatmeal bar.

My friend waited at Fry's Electronics at 8 and was around the corner. I got to Pepboys at 3 (2 hours before it opened) and was the first in line. Another good blackfriday for me.

We live half a block from Big Lots. We never drive there, of course. And we NEVER go there on Thanksgiving weekend. The cars overflow the parking lot onto our nearest cross street--we can see it from our house. Today (Sunday) it still looked pretty hectic.

only thing i bought in-store on Black Friday was a $50 wireless keyboard and mouse cause I broke my old keyboard...... today i bought a $60 Ryobi Combo Kit at work comes with a drill, a circular saw a flash light and a radio you could hook an MP3 player up too, but on Thursday i did my real shopping picking up a new 320gb hard drive for my PC.. 80 gbs just wasn't cutting it anymore

I camped out at Bestbuy 13 hours. I ended up getting a Sony VAIO laptop. It was well worth the 400$ savings! The police were called twice because of fights that broke out due to line jumpers. Other then that it was a great time. Here in Michigan it snowed, and hit a low of 21 degrees Fahrenheit. We ended up bringing a tent for a wind breaker.... It worked great (along with a small propane heater). At one point we had 12 guys huddled up around the heater it was pretty funny…

Just got internet at my new house, thought I would finally post.

I went early Thursday morning to Kmart to get a few Christmas lights for the house, and people had been there since 11pm the night before trying to get a Wii (weirdo's check ebay!!)... the manager came out at 10 of, to tell all of them he only had 4!!!!

I started out at 3:30 am Friday at JCPenney, and I got a beutiful 90 piece place setting from Oneida, plus a few other housewares more than 50% off. I then drove down to Ikea, was the first one there, and bought more things I needed PLUS I got TWO full breakfasts for TWO dollars!

I decided to go get the travel box for my Segway to take him to Europe in two weeks around 4/5 pm, what a mistake! One 1/4 mile road had an accident on the way out, and a totally different one on the way back! What is wrong with people!
