Need some help?
I just got an 3 gen Ipod Nano and begun trying to use it. The problem I have is that iTunes is not working. When I download the new version of iTunes, it works fine and towards the end, I get an error message saying " The installer has encounter a problem. This may indicate a problem with this package" and then the download can not be complete. It tells me that Quicktime can not be install.
I have Sony VAIO with Windows Vista.
If you can help regarding this matter, that would be great.

Even though what Alexa said is true, the real problem is Vista. Sadly Apple has been having troubles with Vista and compatibility. You may try seeing if there are any updates that address an issue related to this problem. You may also try to find a different version of iTunes, then have it update itself. The last thing i can recommend is to try installing Quick Time by itself, then try to install iTunes by itself and then see which program is actually causing the problem.

I didn't have that issue, but I am getting a strange one. Every time I run iTunes, I get the Windows Installer thing for a second then it comes up. Also when I click a link on a webpage for iTunes (itms://) it Vista doesn't recognize it.
Are you using the Apple Update software, or downloading it from a browser? And if you're using the browser, do you have a download manager installed (GetRight, DownloadThemAll, etc)? Do any other programs have trouble installing?

Try downloading the latest version straight from Apple's site, then upgrading from there. Could be a problem with Apple Update.

Perhaps try an old version (http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=itunes)
