Snow Day Showdown Thanks!

On Behalf of Team 1089, I'd love to thank all of the teams and volunteers who came out today to make our first FIRST event successful! I'm so proud of my students, my parents, and the volunteers in helping everything run as smoothly as possible! I had so much fun!

Additionally, thanks to the 14 teams who came out to enjoy this event! I hope (and expect) that we can host another event next year!

why a snow day

We're in the last weeks of December, which, in the NE means you typically get days off of school around this time of year because of snow. Of course today was bright and sunny, which is nice, but we're expecting some snow/freezing rain tonight.

Snow Day Showdown was a blast! I want to thank all the teams that attended for making it a great time!

I especially want to thank the 1089 students - as the host team, everyone (especially the freshmen) really stepped up and got the job done.

I hope you all had as much fun as we did!

We tend to get the January/February snowdays.
We had 2 last week alone. Almost had one today.

Every year in build season we seem to get 4 or 5.
YUK!!! Since we work in the school building it
is hard to get things done when there is a snow day.

Throw in 2 teacher PD days in January also and several
days of exams. WOW.
