Sad but true, I couldn't find any pictures of Gary for this exercise. Guess I'll have to wait until caption contest #1,889.

In an attempt to get the timing back to normal, the deadline this time around will be Sunday, December 23, at midnight Eastern. (Well, nominally.)

Go!

Duck, Duck, Goose, robotics style. Also known as Robot, Robot, Tubes! Instead of tagging the one who put two tubes on you, you take one off and put it on them before they make one complete circuit of the outside of the shop.

No one knows what she intends to do with that red ringer. But at least they're wearing safety glasses.

Seeing this picture featuring an outdoor setup and team members wearing shorts, FRC teams from across the northern states and Canada cringe.

Brittany:

If you will please just put this tube on and wear it during build, I'll let you play with my Barbie. You can can even spike her hair!

Forgoing Tasers, team 180 demonstrates their new crowd-control idea...

"Little does the chaser know, around the corner is a Spanish Inquisition. She's being led into a trap consisting of a bunch of people, amongst who's weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms. All waiting to put her in the comfy chair. I'd say she didn't expect it, but I think that's rather obvious."

Here's what happens when tubes go bad.
Here we see and innocent young woman who's mind was taken over when she put on the tube. The young woman is trying to get a good friend to try on the tube so her mind can be taken over too.
And so begins the world domination one tube at a time.

I don't think this is a real caption contest... well maybe. If it was legitimate Billfred wouldn't think to say that it's legitimate. He says there's no spam, but in the picture we can clearly see a spam t-shirt... unless it's a knock-off. But the 'no' appearing twice in the sentence indicates that there IS spam and the shirt is possibly authentic(?)

Sheesh, this has all the clarity of one of Dave's posts.

Thus how S.P.A.M.'s cheer becomes acted out...

::tags brittany::

Open the door
step on the gas
lean back
and watch 180 pass

Boom
sha la la la la
Boom
Sha bang bang
Boom

...The sight did not end well, luckily all were wearing safety glasses.

During her early years of growing up in high school, Supergirl (aka Brittany) developed a serious fear of drowning; even on land.

I suppose that visions of game hints are dancing in the heads of most. ;)

First place goes to:

No one knows what she intends to do with that red ringer. But at least they're wearing safety glasses.

Second place goes to:

Everyone knows SPAM comes in a can, but apparently now SPAM comes in a tube, too. :p

Seeing as how it's Christmas Eve, I'm feeling generous with the honorable mentions. Twos for everybody! (Even kramarczyk and his meta-entry. ;))

And, of course, the (freezer) burn award...

Seeing this picture featuring an outdoor setup and team members wearing shorts, FRC teams from across the northern states and Canada cringe.

Billfred loves puns. He loves silly puns. Spend an hour with him and he will have made oh, maybe 25 puns.

What he often seems to do is base the subject matter on the contest #, tying it in with a team number. Billfred introduces the new contest with a really bad pun each week. This unofficial caption contest was #180: FRC 180 otherwise known as SPAM.

They are a super team. :)
Jane

Edit: Response to Billfred's post below - yup - I figured 25 might be a low number, depending on if you were talking or listening during that hour. (you do both well) - and the 25 was a nod to another great really bad punster...

JaneJane,

Catch me when I haven't had to make a 500+ mile drive the day before. If I were doing just 25 puns per hour in the Preston lobby, my friends would think I needed my head examined. (not that they don't think that already...)

I was attempting to play off this post of Billfred's in the game hint thread, but apparently too much time had passed.

I call shenanigans...
That said, I'm lightly seasoning my words in case I need to eat them later.
