It seems that when I open a tool (one that has a dialog box) and then click inside the drawing area, the dialog box fails to render properly. I've attached a screenshot of this phenomenon with the mirror tool, but I've seen it with several other tools.

Any ideas?
(Before anyone asks, I'm running 2GB DDR400 RAM, AMD Athlon 64 2.4gHz processor, GeForce 7900GT graphics, and all my drivers are up to date.)

Have you installed all Hotfixes and Service Packs?
Updated your graphics card driver?
Is your graphics card and driver certified for Inventor 2008?
You didn't state whether OS is Windows XP or Vista.
If XP the first thing you might try is Tools>Application Options>Hardware tab change from Direct3D to OpenGL.
If none of this works I would post this in the Autodesk forum

Inventor is up to date (SP2, also com center says it is.)
My graphics driver is up to date (nVidia release 169.21) and is WHQL certified.
Autodesk says that NEW 2008: When using Inventor 2008,: with Direct3D, any Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL) certified graphics driver is certified for use with Inventor.
So, there should be no driver problem with Direct3D. However, running the diagnostic in Inventor tells me that it has not been certified by AutoDesk. I have tried switching to OpenGL with no improvement.
I'm going to roll back to an AutoDesk-approved driver version and will post results.
