In the general forum there are numerous threads stickied to the top. While all of them have useful information, some are quite old and, frankly, stale. As each stickied thread is one less slot open for a new thread, and shortly there will be a deluge of new threads, I propose that at least a few of the current threads get merged, moved or unstickied. Previously important threads have ended up here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/announcement.php?f=16), and that seems like a fine solution. This will allow new threads more time on the front page before being buried by even newer threads and, as we all know, once a thread ends up on the second page it's chances of being seen by someone with an answer or something useful to add drops.
Proper use of FIRST terms, cautioning against mentoring in college and so on are important but, I think, secondary to live discussion of the current season. Moreover having so many stuck threads lessens the impact and makes people even less likely to read and heed them. A few stuck threads would be fine, and there are a few that should remain where they are, but the 7 that I count now is a bit much in my mind.
Any thoughts or input?

edit: Correct number of stuck threads is 7, not 8.
edit 2: The correct number was 8! Vindicated!
