My name is Mason Falk, I am the captain of Team 548 (Robostangs) and I would like to give my sincere apology to the teams/users of CD regarding the thread that was posted about "4th Game Hint" We have tracked down the person that created the thread, and have told them that if they are caught doing things such as this again, that serious punishment could be introduced. We have also, as of today, taken steps to talk to the team as a whole to insure they are aware that they represent the team in everything that they do, and this brings a negative outlook from the FIRST community. Again, we apologize, and hope that it did not seriously effect anyone.

Thank you for your time,
Mason Falk
FRC Team 548 Captain

In my opinion, it wasn't a big deal at all. Cosidering it didn't go on for more than an hour, it was sort of funny. Plus...there's not going to be a water game in the near future, we all should know that. Don't worry about it. For the most part, I don't think any one is too upset about it. My team got a good laugh. ;)

Considering StephLee was called while asleep by a mentor about it, I think some people were probably upset. I appreciate the apology, and I'm glad it's been address and everyone can move on and learn from it.

Yah. It's good everyone was talked to and all. I'm just saying I don't personally think it was a big deal.

I really didn't see the need for people to freak out either, it was an obvious fake so just leave it as that..

It would have helped you determine the game as much as the official hints did :D I found it mildly amusing...

I thought it was funny... reminds me of that post awhile ago about CD users being thin skinned.

First, my apologies for praising the act, for considering it was at the 10 o'clock hour on the night before kick-off, I had a gut feeling this was joke, and had not entirely realized how seriously people were taking it.

That said, I know how it feels to try and make something funny and realize that actually, not many are finding it what you intended, and in fact, get the exact opposite response.

It is quite embarrassing, and knowing that, next time this sort of thing happens when the joke is not put as a joke by complete accident, it would be best to just cool all jets, let it pass, and just talk to the guy about it instead of figuratively pouncing on the guy, for I am more than certain NO ONE intends to be ungraciously professional.

The only reason why I pitched in like that is because I had some major sympathy for the other end that was getting criticized (quite brutally at that, I would probably be to tears if my integrity was being knocked out from under me like that), knowing I had been on that end before, and it is not pretty.

Conclusion: it was amusing, I should not have responded like I did, but when I am a mentor, I try to approach things from the other side instead of staying on my plane of things. Such an act should probably never be attempted again, but if it is, should be done in the rumor mill or in chit chat.

...and life goes on

-Joe

It's definately not showing G.P., but it was fun nonetheless.

Hi everyone. I would like to personally apologize about the post. Like the guy said up above me there^^ i would never try to be ungraciously professional on purpose... It was all in good fun, and for those of you that actually decided to fall for the quite obvious "not real hint", well im sorry to you. Like i said, most of you took it all as good fun, and thats what it was intended for. It had its moments...

Please everyone! The "water game" is one of the oldest jokes of FIRST game design! I'm saddened that someone would be censured for such an obvious and classic joke. If anything, I think this shows an erosion of GP from teh other side.

I was more tweaked at the overexcited college mentor than the person who posted, and it was much funnier this morning when I'd had some sleep...:)

Moving on to the real game!

I do agree that the comments Finaldark received from his prank were quite harsh. However, it should have been posted in the proper place (Rumor Mill) to begin with. I'm sure all parties involved have learned a lesson or two, and the apology to the CD, and therefore, FIRST Community is appreciated.

I think most of us took it as an attempt at humor. No harm done here.

All is forgiven. On with the game.

Don't worry. We were all thinking the same thing...it was a nice break in the stress.

Water game, come on!!! Everybody should know there won't be a FIRST water game, at least not in the near whatever. While most things on CD should be taken seriously, there are a few obvious hints if something is merely in jest.

With that said, apology is accepted.
