(Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I couldn't find anywhere better)

My team has a few questions concerning some general rules and some game related rules.

First off: If we had a frame from last year that we would like to use as the base this year, can we use the previous frame? The debate comes from a few members saying although it is exactly the same, we would have to re fabricate it.

Secondly: Yet another question on hurdling. If we have a devise to hurdle the ball then reach back and re hurdle it, would it count as a hurdle or would you have to re pass the line for it to count? Example being - I have an arm that reaches over the hurdle. I drop it on the other side, pick it back up (This way it touches the ground) and reach back over and re hurdle.

Thanks for the help guys. I tried to ask these questions on the first forums but I couldn't find the submit a question on there. If anyone has a link please feel free to post it for me.

The answer to this and many more questions can be found by reading the manual carefully. In this case, <R37> and section 8.3.4 of the manual seems to be your guiding rule.

This strategy would not result in points under <G12>.

First:
<R27> Prior to the Kick-off: Before the formal start of the Robot Build Season, teams are encouraged to think as much as they please about their ROBOTS. They may develop prototypes, create proof-of-concept models, and conduct design exercises. Teams may gather all the raw stock materials and COTS COMPONENTS they want. But absolutely no fabrication or assembly of any elements intended for the final ROBOT is permitted prior to the Kick-off presentation

So you may NOT use the frame you already made. You MUST build a new one.

Second:
<G13> A TRACKBALL that has CROSSED its own FINISH LINE must CROSS the opponent’s FINISH LINE before it can score by CROSSING its own FINISH LINE again.

The trackball must pass the opponent's finish line before being scored again, so no, you cannot sit there and continuously hurdle the trackball.

Alright thanks guys. Guess I just plain missed the second one. Just wanted to clarify the first.
