I have always hated the ranking point system in past years; I felt it penalized a defensive robot. It also penalized you when you were in a match against missing robots or robots that break.
This year may be different because it minimizes defense and allows you to score for the other team.
Imagine you are in a match with a killer alliance against an alliance that has difficulty scoring. You build a big lead so you decide to help your opponents score by herding their balls around the field.
Or you show up for a match with a solid alliance and you are up against an alliance with missing robot or a robots that don’t function well so you decide to knock off their balls in the hybrid period to give them more score.
Could lead to some interesting strategies.
