Try here first: http://www.andymark.biz/am-0145.html

And if I am not mistaken the site you are referring to is either
http://firstbase.autodesk.com
or
http://www.firstcadlibrary.com

The Autodesk Kit of Parts has been posted to FIRSTbase:
http://firstbasefrc.autodesk.com/?nd=m_kitofparts_view

This year, the models are available individually, but also in groups (look for titles such as "Chassis All Parts").

Basically I am having the same trouble, only I found the site but the parts are not coming up. There is no error message, just nothing.

Anyone have an answer please?

hmm, I pulled all the combined zips a couple of days ago without trouble and just pulled a single part zip now without trouble. Are you still seeing problems?

I didn't have any trouble, except I couldn't actually open the files due to the fact that I still have Inventor 11 on my computer, and it says that they were made in a newer version. I could still download the files without any trouble though.

I am still having a lot of trouble with FIRSTbase.
The KoP is just not showing up. There isn't even zip files. The page loads and the things are just absent. Im not exactly sure how to describe it. There is no little box with a red x nor is there an error message. It just doesnt show up.

I havent emailed FIRST because, although I've been in FRC for four years, this is the first year I've used the computer on my team.

If anyone has an answer, that would be great!
Thanks everyone that replied.

Ali,

What computer, operating system and browser are you using? Do you have a broadband or dial-up connection?

Yes... I've seen something similar over the past couple days on firstbase, using Internet Explorer running on Vista as well as Windows 2000. When you click on the "2008" button, nothing shows up.

Fortunately most of the parts are available in the 2007 file, which is available, but it has been rather inconvenient at times when demonstrating how powerful the vitural KOP/Inventor combination is to be left without parts.

And just to further suggest that this is a problem on the website side of things... I was able to download most of the 2008 KOP from the Firstbase website last week using one of the same computers that shows nothing now.

(edit: just checked the site and it seems the 2008 KOP is back on-line... must have been a temporary glitch, but it did happen.)

(Further edit... does anyone know why the RC, Victors and Spikes aren't included under the "control system" category at firstbase? All I can find there is the backup battery. Maybe it is just assumed that everyone is using the models from www.firstcadlibrary.com.)

I don't know, but you can find other electronics parts modelled here:

I went there and clicked the link on the side with the picture of the guy in the green bandana and it takes me to:

http://firstbasefrc.autodesk.com/?nd=m_kitofparts_view

Where it said:

" Autodesk Kit of Parts
Below are over 100 of the kit of parts modeled in Autodesk Inventor 2008. You can download an individual part or download a zipped file of all of the parts in that category (i.e. All of the electrical parts, all of the sensors, etc.)."

However below there is nothing.

anyone know who makes the 15 tooth output sprocket? We have an old one,
but its not machined for set screws or a keyway.
Who made the 2008 Kop ones?

Here are sprockets from Small Parts, Inc. They don't have 15 tooth but do have 16 tooth which will make things go a little faster. You are looking for the #35 chain, 1/2 bore. They have the set screw and keyway.

At MSC on page 3720

there is the 36684074 part number which has a datasheet here:http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT?PMCTLG=00&PMAKA=36684074&partnerURL=http://catalogs.shoplocal.com/mscdirect/index.aspx%6Fpagename=shopmain%50circularid=11264% 50pagenumber=3716%50mode=
I think but am not sure the keyway is correct as is the setscrew.

Does anyone know where I can buy the nut for the 13" lead screw? We are planning on using ours this year, but the load on it could get fairly high, especially when we get hit. It would be a good idea for us to have one or two spares. Thanks!

Thanks to Kevin Sevcik who posted the answer about a year ago on a similar thread. The answer is Kerk Motion at http://www.kerkmotion.com/products/l...howtoorder.asp
