Move Tool

Hi, I'm having a bit of a stupid problem. When I use the move tool, instead of being able to select what axis I want to move along, all I get are random red lines and I have to move along every axis. Any ideas on how to change this?

Are you a new user or did the move tool work properly at one time then recently started acting odd?

Can you post a screen capture showing the random red lines?
