IR use question

could a team have more then 4 signals set up, then only use 4 of them in any given game?

example:

one set of four for each stratagy

Speed:
1)forward
2)left
3)stop
4)empty

Knock ball off
1)manipulator toggle
2)left
3)forward
4)right

Defence
1)forward
2)back
3)empty
4)empty

also this thread gave me an idea, during hybrid can you go backwards?

<R65> seems clear to me, that you can communicate only 4 messages during any single match. <R69> says you can't change which 4 messages it reacts to during a match.

So, in my opinion*, as long as you set which 4 you're using before the match, don't change during the match, have the card mentioned in <G49> accurate, it should be OK.
