After watching this, I couldn't help but think that someone will try to use a tv-b-gone this year. I assume that the device just cycles through the power sequences for every code, so you would be safe as long as you avoid the power button as one of your 4..

haha I saw that. I agree.
thanks, Vivek.
p.s. Exactly how many CDers go to gizmodo?

lmao, looks like good fun but so not GP :D
Hmm, I own one of these. I'll make sure to keep it at home and away from competition just in case the button gets pressed while on my keyring in my pocket or something.

That was one thing that scares me are the tv remote flooders. Its not in the spirit of first of corse but someone in the stands could think they are being funny or something:eek: .

Here is the worst problem of it though, the power button on one remote can (and most likely will) give a command to another type of remote. I know this because of a universal remote I had once which was programed by going through all of the power button options. I would always see my VCR come on, my T.V.'s menu appear, and then my VCR start trying to record every time I would try to program the remote to the T.V. I have informed my mentor about this and he is going to talk to the GDC about it.
EDIT: I just recently read a follow up to this, and Gizmodo is no longer allowed to CES, I must laugh as they only brought it upon themselves.

But it's still hilarious. IMHO, worth being kicked out of. No sense of humor, it is...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not bring one of these things to a competition, people!!!
