Has anyone found a website where you can buy more gear tooth sensors?

Allegro Microsystems makes Hall Effect gear tooth sensors. I seem to recall those are the sensors used in the KoP. I believe Newark and DigiKey both stock Allegro products.

I believe we are looking for extra gear tooth sensor boards that came in the KoP.

Not for sure about if this is the right place, but i mounted by sensors on the clear plate for the transmissions and they look like they are too far from the gears to receive a reading. Where can i find a picture of how they should look when mounted?

Just a quick question...
How do you know if the gear tooth sensors are faulty? One of our mentors thinks that all the ones that we got are all faulty.

We hooked ours up to an O-scope, set a spinning gear next to it, and watched the pulses.

You have to be very very close to the sensor for it to trigger. We were only a couple/few millimeters away from the gear when our sensor started to send out pulses.

We were considering mounting the sensors within the gearbox, but after some considerations related to cleaning debris off the sensor, have changed our minds and will make it more accessable so we can clean the sensor between bouts (without having to disassemble the gear box)
