can we modify the remote to make the IR sending port so it sends a stronger signal using such things as an IR amplifier??

<R65> appears to allow you to build your own remote, and it may be infrared, visible light, or sound. It must be hand held and no larger than 3 feet wide, 3 feet tall, and 1 foot deep :eek: . No radio frequency, and no lasers.

Sure, why not?

I know that sounds flippant, but it's not meant to be. The rules don't say you can't use a non-commercial remote. There don't appear to be any restrictions on the manifestation of your remote, just as long as it fits in the box they have for it and you follow the "rule of four".
