In the rules, you are not supposed to have a powered cart, but a lot of teams do.
Where in the rules does it say you cannot have a powered cart? The only cart specifications I've seen is for it to fit through a 30" door and it cannot have any sound (like a stereo). And for safety measures, the cart cannot be used for transporting people. I have seen nothing about not being able to power it using motors.

Yeah... take it from someone who's almost gotten run over by a powered cart before... you're not much safer on the ground. :yikes:
Fun cart... you should drive it to your classes one day... or better yet, disguise it as an unsuspecting wagon, hide with your remote control and move it when people get close. :D

That looks like so much fun! You should make another and drag-race them. We do that with office-chairs.
Check the radio usage--you may need to tether the cart due to the "no radios in pits" rule.
Edit: on second look, I saw the tether cable being used. I foresee no rule violations unless someone forgets to use the tether.
Neither the Vex transmitter, nor the code in the Vex microcontroller have been been designed, developed or tested/certified "Safe for use in situations affecting human safety."
Don't do it.

nah, we've done worse. Talk about zip tying a chair to the top of our frame and using a tv remote and IR board to drive it around. That's fun and has an element of trust involved.
