pneumatic cylinder help.

Were trying to figure out these pneumatics and we can't figure out what kind of cylinder to use. Retracted, we want it to be 8 to 10 inches. We want to use it for our scissor lift, and that means a 2-way one, without the springs. (Ive never done anything with pneumatics before, so if I sound dumb, sorry :P) So.....what would be the best one from this page:

Unfortunately, you cannot use any of the cylinders that they sell, as far as I know.

You need to read this manual

and go to the Bimba FIRST page

and order your 3 free cylinders there, and if you need more cylinders they need to be exactly what is listed on that page.

Also if you only have 8 to 10 inches for it in the retracted position, you won't get much travel at all, especially with the large bore cylinders that can actually push with a lot of force.

I think what you mean by the two way one is one that will stay open or stay closed.....for this configuration you'll need a double solenoid (provided in the KoP) hooked up to your cylinder instead of a single solenoid. Moving on from that, bimba ofers 3 free cylinders every year to teams....it might be to late to order but give it a shot, the link to that page was posted farther above.

When ordering your cylinder keep in mind that stroke is how far it reaches, so if u want 8 inches of displacement get an 8 inch stroke. Bore is the thickness of the piston, the thicker the more force behind the cylinder.
