Can we use last years code?

I see Kevin Watson has new code for 2008. But can we still start from last years code? If we build on what we wrote the last few years, will the autonomous code still get called in tele-operated mode, and the robot still operate at the match?

yes....i think....you can use the old code....it works the same.

You can start with it, but you need to be very careful not to leave any of the code you wrote last year unchanged.

Unaltered software modules developed by the team during prior competitions shall not be directly re-used. Just as designs for hardware COMPONENTS may be reused from one year to the next, software algorithms and designs may be reused. However, the specific lines of code must be customized for each ROBOT each year.

It would probably be better to start with the unaltered 2007 default code, then add new functionality based on what you did last year.
