What is the difference between the single solenoid from Festo compared to the one from SMC?
Does it matter which one we use? i.e. do certain solenoids go to certain pistons?

Also,
When going from the tubes to the pistons, can you use a thread to tube connector instead of an adjustable thread to tube connector?
(we don't need to regulate the amount of air going into the piston)

Thanks in advance.

You can use either solenoid, the Festo will flow a little faster but I have had problems with them leaking in the past. (My dad used to work for SMC so I may be a little biased.)

You can use either type of connector. Flow control is nice but if you don't need it don't use them. They can be accidentally adjusted and you will be scratching your head to figure out why your cylinders have slowed down.

Thank you very much. :D

Thank you!

Does anyone else have any other opinions of SMC vs Festo solenoids?
