Cool use of the kit gearbox. Do those hula hoops in the background have any significance?

Do you have two CIMs in the Toughbox lifting the elevator? How fast does it move up and down?

If it does have two CIMs on the lift, I imagine it would move up and down however fast they want it to! :) that's the serious way to power a manipulator.

haha, we actually knocked out a ceiling tile with our forklift last year. this was the day before ship, and we shattered our lexan electronics panel, and had to redo it completely before sending it off the next day..

Fear the MS-paint?

Shiny looking robot though, nice job on the bumpers. Are you going to powder coat/spray paint the aluminum?

It almost looks like the writing on the bumpers is from MS-paint.

What speeds is that running at?

We modified them a great deal. Replaced the lexan with ABS, and modified the 1/2" shaft to come out both sides. And yes we did use 2 CIMs. We can raise the elevator in 2-3 seconds.

Do those hula hoops in the background have any significance?

Perhaps...

Yeah LJ whats the big deal? I expected better from you...

No, its not our style. We'll be decorating it with the same polycarbonate armor we used last year.

Oh yes... And it'll have an Atlas Hood ornament! And maybe a tongue.... :D

You need a taller ceiling....

We finished our new robot room just a few days before kickoff, and the best thing about it are the tall ceilings (and more space, etc...)

Did you guys get a new room?

That doesn't look like either of the rooms we had when I was on the team.

Looks good. Have you guys done any drive practice with it yet?

No, we have been working in my garage. It’s a much better place to work since there is a CNC-mill, lathe, and welder in there (and its heated). :)

But since Bond Measure J passed in the primary election the school district will probably be building us a full shop this summer! :D Woohooo!

We've tested all the individual components. Everything seems to work. After we install the electronics and pneumatics this weekend we should be ready for a full test. We've had limited practice with our prototype robot.

Any chance we could swing by your place on Friday the 15th for a test on the carpet?
