Can we build a single u-shaped bumper and mount it to the left and right of the robot?

If you can do it without compromising structural integrity of the bumpers and without having hard parts in the corners, I think so. This might be one for the GDC to answer... *cringes as he realizes how many bumper questions they've already answered*
