that looks like some sort of idler spool for a cable set up.

weird that it looks so familiar :)

Is that a sissor lift I spy? spring loaded up and winch down? That would explain the pulley.

There is no scissor lift.... only "the Thwacker"

The robot has very minimal moving parts as far as arms go. Its a rock solid design that does exactally what we want it to, when we want it to.
