 Eh,....>_> Does anyone know if you can hook a motor's wires directly to a victor? As in without using anderson connector or a spade connector?

you can BUT its not safe which makes it not legal

You can hook up a motor to the victors terminals(M+, M-) with either ring terminals on the motor, or with two wires with spade and female connectors. However you do it, it has to be secure and safe.

Yes, it would functionally work, assuming you don't short anything with a stray strand of wire. Then you might have a bigger problem.

However, it's not recommended, and most likely won't pass inspection at the competitions.

what exactly are you asking? if you can connect the motor without any connector crimped on?

What using just the bare wire leads you can but you will run the risk of one of the wires touching the other or worse the chassis and it's electrically not safe to do let alone you won't pass inspection by doing so. It's advised that you use a Ring or Spade connector that way it ensures that the only contact that those wires make are those of the victors power terminals. And it will also ensure a passing electrical system inspection b/c the judges WILL be looking for unsafe electrical connections esp. wires that are exposed.

Er... no let say I have the 2 motor wire crimped with a ring connector and I attach that to the M+ and M- respectively. Is that legal?
I ask because our team normally does uses anderson connectors to connect a wire from the M+ or M- to one of the wires from the CIM motor.

Yes that is ok. And I thought the anderson connector refered to the hermaphrodite connector for the battery.

Do you know anyone rule number remotely close to prohibiting what I ask of?

Nope Ring Terminals are okay to attach directly to the motor wires.

Jump,
This method is perfectly legal and in most cases recommended. Teams use the smaller Anderson plugs, when they think they may need to rapidly change out a defective component. By placing the Victor near the motor you are controlling, you can use larger wire to feed the Victor and reduce some of the losses of the motor wire and additional connectors.
