It is such a relief to be done. Our bumpers are also done, they are where PINK (ewwwwwwww). Now they are black.

Can't wait for the Finger Lake Regionals. On saturday we broke a few things like the part that connects the flippers to the pneumatics, so we made them from steel. The lift had a few probs and we fixed them also. It's a little hard to turn, but we font that when we are moving it turns A LOT better.

i cant wait for the finger lakes regional. are robot can herd, knock of ball, and hurdle. i guess will see u there. oh and ur robot looks pretty cool. does it hurdle?

does everything, knock off in hybrid mode, hurdle, herd the ball, and place at the end.
Looks pretty sweet. What are those little suction cup things are what ever they are for? Some kind of stabalization when hurdling. Se you at Finger Lakes.

suction cups???? Do you mean the flaps on the top? Those are to give up more area to his the ball with when we hurdle. Also they make it so the ball shoots off the one side if we hit it right.
no not those. there looks like there are two arms that come out on the bottom. looks like a couple of 3/4 inch pistons are hooked up to them letting them come in and out of the robot and two more to push it up and down. thought it was some sort of stabalization thing or something.

Ah they are used to help herd the ball around. They are kinda cool and could take someone leg off if you hit someone with them.

Where did you get that pneumaic tubing? We have been trying to figure out the best way to run our tubing up our lift, and self-coiling seems that it would be the best way.

We coiled it our selfs, all you need is a large heat shrink gun and a PVC pipe.

If you're using square or round stock for your arm you can run the tubing through it.
Or you can use the ever-versatile zip ties.

We're using 8020 and the way it's set up makes it somewhat difficult to run the tubing 100% effectively. We have a pretty good setup right now, but we all would feel more secure with a better tubing set-up.

In that case a coil might be your best option. Be sure to used different colored tubing for the open and close valves so you'll be able to tell which is which.

Yeah, we have figured that out. we have two cylinders that lft about 7' so the self coinling would just help to keep everything in line and prevent it from getting caught up in the actal lift. thanks for the help.

On 375 we've always used Bosch extrusion, and the way we used to run our tubing was running it through one of the unused side "channels."

But in our situation, we have a three stage lift that we can't really do that on. I think we will just try and figure out how to use a coil.

Oh dear. GDC has said that's illegal: http://forums.usfirst.org/showthread.php?t=8802
I'd suggest you buy some coiled tube so you can replace it at your first regional.

This is what <R87> states
Additional pneumatic system items specifically permitted on 2008 FRC ROBOTS include:
One or two additional Clippard air storage tanks (Clippard Part Number AVT-32-16),
equivalent to those provided in the kit. This means that up to four, and no more, Clippard air
storage tanks can be used on the ROBOT.
Pneumatic pressure relief valves identical to those provided in the Kit Of Parts (Parker Part
Number PV609-2).
Prior year FIRST Kit Of Parts solenoid valves, and pneumatic tubing may be used in
addition to those provided in the 2008 Kit Of Parts. Their costs must be accounted for as
explained in Section 8.3.3 Budget Constraints.
Additional 0.160” inch inside diameter pneumatic tubing functionally equivalent to that
provided in the Kit Of Parts, with the pressure rating clearly factory-printed on the exterior of
the tubing (note: alternate tubing colors are acceptable).
Pressure transducers may be used as long as they are rated to at least 125psi.
For the purposes of the FIRST competition, a device that creates a vacuum is not
considered to be a pneumatic device and is allowed. This includes, but is not limited to,
venturi-type vacuum generators and off-the-shelf vacuum devices (as long as they are
powered by provided or permitted motors).
For the purposes of the FIRST competition, closed-loop pneumatic (gas) shocks are not
considered pneumatic devices, and are permitted additions to the ROBOT.
It states nothing about heat treating the tubing
