Are other teams using the Easy Button on their control board? We plan on using it for our shooter mechanism. As a bonus, it's been wired up to retain the "That Was Easy!" sound.

Sorry, but we were unable to get any video before the robot got in the crate. Enjoy some pictures!

Hehe.

We've got one to set off our catapult. We couldn't get it to work with the sound though.

Cool. Got any pictures/video of your robot or control board?

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNSOspwiEv4 is decent.

This one is newer, and you can see the easy button in it.

Thanks, took me awhile to see the easy button in it.

If you were using the easy button to it's full potential, then there would be no need to place it on your control board. You could just press it before you cart your robot onto your field.

Of course, the easy button makes everything easy. ;)

Ohh man if only that was true. :)

By the way our hosting company is doing updates right now, so the site will be down temporarily.

The last time I hit the easy button, I stayed up for 40 hours programming and working on the robot. It was easy!

I thought of that, but it was already week 6 so we couldn't do it this year. We're going to do it next year, though (hopefully)!

We're considering putting a guide out on how to wire it up and retain the "That Was Easy!" sound. We'll let you know if we do.

We had thought about it last year for our controller to deploy our ramps but then decided against it because we did not think that the button would hold up throughout the competition and repeated use. Good luck with it though.

Is there anyone that's going to the Great Lakes or Detroit Regional (the two we're going to) using an Easy Button?

I thought this was a great use last year: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=601992&postcount=23

That's a really cool idea. The Easy Button requires quite a bit of pressure to be activated though (at least it seems like it, for a simple little button).

we have it on our board to control firing, and it still says that was easy, to wire it all you have to do is solder one lead into one end of the switch and another in the other end, its uber easy.

A mentor did it for us, I really didn't think it was that easy.

Is anyone using an easy button for something besides a shooter?
