Aaaaand... a video of our robot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6WpAuIK9e4

The RareCab features:
-Ackerman steering
-3 wheel drive, one superpowered back wheel (all 4 CIMs)
-very fast, geared up from normal gearboxes
-optional ball herder (not shown in any of the pictures or video)

That looks very, very racy... but you're putting the two wheels in the front? And 4 CIMs on one wheel? :yikes: Sounds tough to control...

Acutally, that was our exact reason for choosing Ackermann steering. With the two turning wheels in the front, the robot is very easy to drive at high speed around corners. Our robot, of course does require some skill to drive, or rather a good reaction time due to its high speed. Before we put on the traction wheel on the back, we had a kitwheel from 2 years ago. With the lower traction, you could actually quite easily pull off a controlled drift on the back wheel. :D

Video or it never happened...this would probably be the single coolest FRC drive train trick I've seen.
