View Full Version : First Week Teams - Did Robocoach/Hybrid Work for You?
Now that we have one week down playing Overdrive (great job, teams!), I wanted to see how effective use of the IR sensor / robocoach commands were from the teams who tried to use it.
Questions:
If you used,
- did you have any issues?
- did you have to make any modifications/corrections to make it work?
- did you need to ensure certain positioning to enable the remote signal?
Thanks!
After we moved the flag holder, it worked 100%. The Lap counter interfered with our IR receiver.

has anyone else had this problem? If so what were the reasons? (ex. Ir receiver being to close to the lap counter etc.)

We had this problem as well on Thursday, but were able to fix it for Friday and Saturday. You can read more about it here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?p=709388#post709388) and here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?p=709375#post709375).

We had an issue where an opposing team would get around the track and get in front of the signal so the signal wouldn't reach my robot. This also sometimes happened if an alliance team ended up in between my remote and my robot.
Other than this, I was able to knock the ball off the overpass or cross lines easily.

We have issues but not sure if it was the lap counter that was causing them. We will be relocating the receiver to some more distance between the two before our next regional to see if that helps.
