What is the maxmimum number of hurdles by one robot in a match that you have seen?

7 by 1114 in this match (http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/match.php?matchid=5330).

39 also got 7 in one of the quarterfinals in Arizona I believe. Can't refer you to the exact match though.

This thread reminds me of the Tutorial CD that comes with TurboCAD, "TruboCAD Essentials" (I kid you not. You'd think they would spell check their own company name before making thousands of CDs.) :yikes:

I'll second 1114 with 7. Awesome guys.

p.s. Does anyone else think Hrudling sounds like an activity you'd do in the Alps? More specifically, Switzerland?

Hrudling is a sound you make when you clear your throat.

Are there any new records from the week 3 Regionals?

Have not heard of any higher than 7 in a match so far. Here is the match with team 39 scoring 7 hurdles.... or hrudles??

http://www.soap.circuitrunners.com/2008/movies/az/az_qf1m1.wmv

from the time of the first hurdle, the
average time is about 16.2 sec per hurdle
min = 15 sec
max = 19sec.

Team 39 did 6 in this other qf match at AZ Regional.

I think we did this in one of our matches on Friday (#36?) at cleveland, but I don't know if there's anywhere to figure out exactly what match since none of the videos are online yet. Also, I don't know how those hurdles were distributed among our alliance, but if someone has tapes or some records of some sort which give this kind of detailed match info, some analysis would be much appreciated.

Hopefully someone's got copies of them and is somehow dumping them online somewhere.

Thats one fun match to watch from 39 there!

what are the most hurdles by a single alliance?

I believe 217 got 8 hurdles in one of their matches at Detroit which doesn't surprise me at all. They really have an amazing robot.

Team 343 got 4 but we plan to start a forwards hurdle at palmetto so we could get 5 or 6 at palmetto I know thats not the record but it is pretty impressive i think

I would like to know detail of which match at Detroit. Does anyone know?

============================

39 got 7 hudles twice at Vegas. Will post match numbers and links to video when available.

Any confirmed matches with 8 hurdles out there?

Just a reminder that we are looking for the most number of hurdles by a single robot ( not by an alliance).

I believe 118 hurdled at least 9 times one match at LSR.

I believe 1114 did 8 in one match at GTR. They somehow defied the laws of physics, the universe and everything else by averaging a scary 6.5 hurdles per match at GTR... freaking scary.

I am almost positive 118 did not hurdle nine times in a match at Lone Star
They could have but their driving was a little sketchy in that regional and even with their much improved driving at the Bayou regional they never got anywhere near 9 hurdles

I believe that someone told me that my cousin saw 469 do 14 in a qualification match at GLR...

I wasn't there, but I believe it...

Heavy sarcasm. Unless you can really prove it with a video link or otherwise, just posting what you believe happened doesn't really help the thread...

I don't think that is possible, that means they had 8.5714285714285714285714285714286 seconds to do each hurdle and drive around the field, making their robot go about ~15fps. Also the have to pick up the ball. Honestly it sounds like someone over exaggerated.

april fools as been over for roughly 3 hours now lol (pranks finish at 12 noon)

And to stay on topic, I think so far its 1114 with 7, unless someone can find video of 217 doing 8 ( I saw that earlier in the thread and I would love to see it)

It definitely is not an American rule. :yikes:
In fact, we Americans are allowed to be fools the entire month of April.

Thank You,

Regionals such as the Lone Star Regional does not have any video to confirm anything happened there. Isn't that kind of unfair.

Edit: And I really do not support your lack of lucidity when neg repping people like me. I did think that 118 had gotten nine hurdles, but no one has any video from Lone Star that can prova anything said about that regional.

-Jesus
P.S Don't really care about the neg repping, but you did not have a good reason to do it, unless thats your normal way to show emotions and adding red was the only way you could express yourself. Next time, PM me and maybe we can work it out. And before you neg rep anyone else, try to warn them first.

I don't mean to change the topic but this is a similar question. What is the most laps that a team has done during a match? Our record is 10 but there have to be some other good lap robots out there.

this is not the most number of hurdles but i thought it sholud get some credit
in a elimanation match in vegas 39 got 6(i think) With a ball that had no air ha that was great!!

That was cool. During one of the elimination matches in Las Vegas, one of our trackballs became pretty deflated (it lost about half of its air). The ball was not replaced with a new ball, so 39 took the deflated ball and we took the inflated ball. There might as well have been two inflated balls on the field because 39 shot the deflated ball several times with no problem.

Yeah, that match was fun, I never get tired of re watching it. We didn't even know that we could shoot a deflated ball that well.
P.S. great defence against 987, deflate their trackballs at the beginning of the match, or you are doomed. :D

you want proof, as one of the main scouts for my team at the LSR i saw 118 hurdle 8 times, not to sure about 9 times, i have to look at my spreadsheet

I'm sure someone in Lone Star carried a video camera and can post video. And if not, then just saying so doesn't make it true, if several more people that went to Lone Star can confirm this 8 or 9 hurdles, then I would gladly be amazed by it :D

Edit: For the record, 118's highest score in Lone Star was 82... meaning that if that was the match, there was no one else on the team to even get laps, or they got a huge number of penalties(or both), and no hybrid points ethier.. highly unlikely, but if people can confirm as I said, I would gladly be amazed by it!

thanks James we think we got 7 too but without video we can't prove it.
All we remember about one match was that we picked up the ball drove
backward slammed on the brakes drove forward, hurtled and repeated it
as fast as possible. If anyone has video of the Cleveland finals let us know.

What I am saying about the lack of video is moot anyway, since it is already decided to only include records with video proof. I am just stating that there was at least one regional that did not have video coverage that I know of.
