Nice! Our team tried to conquer a hurdle like that, but were a bit too far away from the middle to make it over, did hit the overpass through.

Why not cheer for everyone? :D
I know for a fact that all of the teams involved had a lot of fun regardless of whether the final outcome was in favor for them or not. I know I speak for more than one person here when I say that it was just plain fun:D

I dont think I could have had a better view... watching that ball fly towards me was quite intimidating... and exciting!

Great hurdle! It was great playing against you at detroit. Maybe we'll be together at GLR =D

I wonder what the drivers were saying during that.

Coach: You got five seconds left!
Driver: I'm gonna turn up here, and you're gonna shoot.
Operator: What?
Driver: Shoot!

It's called a tri-pod.

We're just happy we got it on film :p besides Detroit was too crowded to use a tripod.

Unbelievable. I love the way it comes down and picks the ball up, reminds me of a greyhound for some reason.

You guys are going to be a force to be reckoned with in ATL..

ROFL, you know.. ive been in such similar situations when i drove.. i think any good driving team who work good together get themselves in that kind of situation lol

I think that officially beats the end game impressiveness of the 968 hurdle, 1717 place, 294 knock of SD final 1.

Sure. As long as it goes over the crossbar, between the uprights, in a ccw direction, and lands on the field or on another robot, it's valid.

The only thing that could of made that better was if the angle was a bit more shallow, and it bounced off the outer wall's railing and landed on top of the rack at the end.

But we can't do everything now can we? ;)

Good job Team 27!

Hey, Is it a legal hurdle if your not in the Home stretch??
I was under the assumption that would not count

"Hurdling is defined as: HURDLING:
Quote:
The act of completing a HURDLE. To be considered in the process of HURDLING, the ROBOT must:

* be in its own HOME STRETCH, and
* be in POSSESSION of a TRACKBALL, and
* be moving toward the OVERPASS and/or elevating the TRACKBALL so that the top of the TRACKBALL is higher than the LANE DIVIDER.

Grant Cox
18-03-2008, 14:34
^ all that means is they weren't eligible for protection from hurdler interference. The act of HURDLING and an actual HURDLE are two very discrete things.

I second what Jimmy said. Seeing that out of the corner of my eye, sealed my awe and fascination with 27's bot. I recommend you guys watch the whole match instead of just the end; final score 124-106, it's one of the most intense and offensive matches there've been yet!

Hey, Is it a legal hurdle if your not in the Home stretch??

HURDLE: When a TRACKBALL CROSSES a FINISH LINE while passing above the OVERPASS and then contacts either the floor or another ROBOT before re-contacting the originating ROBOT.

It was certainly a HURDLE by this definition. Where the robots are is not important.

The robot indeed was not HURDLING according the next definition in section 7.2. However, that doesn't make a HURDLE impossible. It just means the robot is not granted protection from interference by other robots.

"

That is merely the definition of a robot in the act of completing a hurdle to clarify when impeding is not called and when interference can be called.

HURDLE: When a TRACKBALL CROSSES a FINISH LINE while passing above the OVERPASS
and then contacts either the floor or another ROBOT before re-contacting the originating ROBOT.
<G11> Each TRACKBALL that HURDLES its own FINISH LINE will earn 8 points (2 points for
CROSSING the FINISH LINE and a 6 point bonus, yielding 8 points total).

Bah, ya beat me to it!

The only other comparably good endgame move I've seen was this one:

http://www.wasapi.com/FLR_08/FLR_08_Match_48.wmv

It's much better to be watching things like this from home than from the opposing driver station. :p Awesome job, 27.
