I thought one of y'all might know where I can find a photo of the interface between the gearbox and wheel on any generation of Segway.

I'm potentially adapting its wheels for use, but I need to get a better idea about whether we can mount them using their existing hubs.

Thanks if anyone is able to help. :)

You know what?

We actually have a pair of Segway transmissions in our closet because one of our mentors is in charge of Operations at Segway. He brought them in during physics training to show us what's inside.

I could ask him and see if it's okay to take pictures of the output.

You'd be my hero. :)

We like the look of the Segway wheels, but need them in a non-powered application, so we're hoping there's a pretty straightforward way of making them work in our application.

Thanks!

Here are some pictures from the output of my i167. Let me know if you'd like bigger resolutions or different angles - it'd be no bother at all to pop the wheel off and take some more.

These are awesome, Pat. Thank you.

Is there any chance you'd be able to tell me the dimension across the flats of the hex? ...and the thread type? :) It might be a little while before I have a wheel in front of me, but the deadline doesn't care.

I'm from New York, so I suppose I'm meant to say "yous," but I don't say that when speaking, so I won't write it. I don't really say "y'all" either, but it seems a little bit less, uh, neanderthal.

It's better than "you guys" [my skin crawls a little just writing that]. What English needs is a good second person plural pronoun.

Hmm... the output shafts on the transmissions we have have this triangular piece...

I can get some pictures to you tomorrow.

As close as I can measure by hand, it's a 14mm hex and the thread is 10mm x 1.5mm.
