hi, we have the 12v batteries and the speed charger that came with the kit of parts. the charger can go on 2, 4, and 6 amp charge speeds. What is the best speed to use? or does it not matter?

You want to use the 6 AMP setting.

The manufacturer specifies the KOP battery to be charged at no more than 6 amps. This will normally charge a depleted battery in under two hours. Don't forget to check that the charger is set in the 12 volt position.

And, just as important, check the charge settings each time you plug in a battery. We've noticed that ours resets to 2A each time. (My solution was to take the label maker and put arrows pointing to the relevant LEDs and a warning on the battery connector. It usually does the job.)

If you are charging the battery at a competition, you should swap the
battery every match and use the 6 amp setting.
If you are charging the battery overnight, and in particular if the
battery is significantly discharged, use the 2 amp setting. This
will minimize the damage that high charge currents will do to the
battery.
