Hi,
Just checking when they will be sent home. We punched in our FedEx tracking no. but nothing showed up yet. Has anyone received their robots yet.
We have a huge school community demonstration next week Wed. and are worried about it getting home in time for it.
Thanks.

Cory told me last night that their robot was already in Florida; they had intended to send it there. :)
Also, it was nice to meet you. I apologize for being a lump; I've been pretty sick and wanted nothing more than to curl up into a ball and sleep.

I am sure since it is free that there will be many shipments based upon available space in a truck going a particular way.
You should not worry unless it is still not shipped in say two weeks.

Checked our shipment this morning. FedEx picked it up in Atlanta 4/23, expected arrival is 4/29 in Seattle. Like you, we have a presentation at the school and to several local clubs and organizations who support us.

We're in the same situation, got a school event this coming Monday that we would like to have our bot for (though it isn't essential). In the past, we've typically gotten our robots back within the week after Championships, but you never know any more.

We're 20 miles north of Atlanta and our bot still isn't back. Usually we get it within a few days. Must be buried in the back of the warehouse.

Have all of you checked online with fedex to see if your bot is in transit?
Ours doesnt even show up, which I suspect, hasnt even been sent yet from Shepard to the FedEx facility.:(

i was wondering how their robot arrived at the shop already but we haven't seen the pink one yet

Ms. P,
Cory's robot actually went to the wrong place. Its supposed to be headed to Waialua High School in Hawaii for R&D inspection..........:P :P

Pretty sure Rick is talking about Vex.
Pretty sure Rick is talking about Vex.Yeah. He's FTC.
Never hurts to check the program indicator in the profile.
I think my team's two CMP teams are back with robots by now. Then again, Lego and Vex robots are a lot easier to transport than an FRC robot.

You got that right, just take the arm off and tuck it into a plastic box. I was happy to see in Portland that my old FRC team is still using the crate I built four years ago. Immortality through transportation modules!

Just adding to the information:
Team 171 (Platteville, Wisconsin) robot crate just was delivered by FedEx about hour and half ago. Really surprised to see it show up today after reading other posts in this thread earlier in the day.

Team 2468, Austin, Texas received our crate on Thursday afternoon at 2:00, April 24th.
Ours got lost in transit to Atlanta so we were excited to get it back. We are taking it to the School Board meeting next Wednesday night.
Our robot isn't even in Fedex's tracking system yet either. We must be 340th in line to ship out.

Sounds like the FedEx Shipping Order Randomizer puts both the Alliance Pairing and Ball Randomizer algorithms to shame.
Sorry, I'm just in a snarky mood and couldn't help myself. No word on ours, and we've got demos Monday, Wednesday, and Friday next week. Good thing last year's 'bot is running smoothly.

It's a little hard to complain about timeliness, given the shipping is free. :o
According to the FedEx Freight cost estimator, it would cost about $2K to have our 600 lb robot crate shipped from Atlanta to LA.
Fortunately, we don't have any demos planned until May 8-9.

Got a call from Fed Ex this morning. Our crate will be delivered on Monday. We brought the robot home with us.....we had a demo yesterday.

...and this is why it's important to keep at least one robot from previous years in healthy, working order boys and girls.
that and driver practice
both moot points if you have a practice bot

Actually, it wasn't entirely free for us. :(
I'm not complaining, I'm just poking fun. :P
Since we have our event annually, they already saw last year's bot.
Keeping our fingers crossed.

Does your crate ship via air? If so, that must cost $$$$!

Our robot was delivered this morning. I imagine every other team's robot will be showing up shortly.
Thank you FedEx!!!
Using an AIRBILL to get our robot from Portland (Week 1) to Hawaii (Week 5), our tracking number was useless for 2 weeks and our robot was MIA for that time before it was finally discovered to be on a boat instead (showed up the Monday before our Week 5 regional). Not sure where the decision to disregard the airbill was made. We're not holding our breath for our bot to show up anytime soon from Atlanta even though there's an airbill on our crate once again.
2415's located in North Atlanta, and we haven't gotten our robot back yet either. We were going to steal our robot and just dump random stuff in our crate, but that didn't exactly work out...
Good luck for all your presentations! We had one on Tuesday, without our robot, and we made fools of ourselves. But our school was never really that receptive to Robotics in general, so whatever.

The Iowa and Wisconsin bound robots stuck together. Ours was delivered mid day Friday also.
As the attached picture shows, 525 & 93 travelled next to each other from Minnesota to Atlanta and they apparently travelled together back from Atlanta as well.

Reviving an old thread?
Has anyone got their robot back yet from Atlanta?
OR,
Has anyone not had their robot shipped yet from Atlanta?
Ours doesnt even show up on the Fedex tracking, where I am assuming it hasnt been shipped yet. Its much later than last year.
With upcoming demos and events, its going to be close.

We've had our robot back since at least Thursday, in time for a demo (that was less than a week after championship... FIRST never ends!)
Ours arrived back here in California last Tuesday (April 28th) all safe and sound. Although, our new crate was a bit banged up.

Ours arrived last week just before a demo, but we have this little problem of it being programmed to work with the field, not with our router, so it got tethered. I guess Kevin hasn't started the "how do you get it back to how it was before regionals?" thread yet

Ours has been back for a week now. We've filled it with balls and put it in our school's hallway with our 2007 & 2008 bots. Hopefully this isn't the last time Daisy May will be crated up

Apparently some time after last thursday around noonish (last time i was in the area) our crate appeared in the shop at school. (We were moved out of Dana TRP last year into ASG and have since been moved out of there as well) We haven't had the chance to open her up ::safety:: and check it out but hopefully there's still a bot in there. :yikes:

our robot got back at least a week ago, maybe longer
For those who don't have your crates and don't see them in the FedEx system:
At some point last week there were still 5 crates in ATL. Team 971 received 753's crate due to a mixup in paperwork by Shepard (two Mountain View High Schools...) and found out that their crate, along with 4 others were still sitting in drayage in Atlanta.
So, if you can't find your crate in FedEx's system, you may want to give Shepard a call.
Glenn,
Ours was delivered about 10:30 this morning.

You can check with Shepard Exposition Services (http://www.shepardes.com/first/) to see if the crate is still in the Atlanta drayage facility. If so, they may also know when the crate is scheduled for FedEx pick-up. Good luck!
As Cory said, our robot was one of the ones left in Atlanta. It shipped on Monday 5/4 and is due home on Thursday. We did get a tracking number so if you still don't have one it is likely it is not in the system. I would call Shepard asap so that if it is still in Atlanta it will get shipped soon. They said that they would contact the other teams but no telling when that might be.
Good luck on getting it back on time for your demos. It's pretty stressful to think that your bot might be lost. Last week before we figured out where it was, team 753 called us (that's the team whose robot was accidentally sent to us) and said that they had shipped two crates and decided to abandon one in Atlanta to save costs. They were worried that maybe our robot and crate had been destroyed instead of theirs. Talk about stress. Shepard assured us that they would never destroy a crate with something inside but we didn't figure that out until the next morning. :(
Of all the years to lose a robot ...
Another note: Hopefully you've already figured this out but our original shipment (753's robot) was in the tracking system. In fact, that was our first clue something was wrong because the stated weight went from 380 to 650 lbs in transit. Someone went down to FedEx to verify the weight and that's when we figured it out that it wasn't ours. 753's robot was not in the tracking system because it never got the right bar code on it.

I actually called Shepard and FedEx earlier before I revived this thread, and they said they were still shipping robots from Atlanta.
I didnt realize that soo many teams got theirs back shortly after CMP weekend.
After calling again today, they indeed have a few left, but only the international ones. The problem is we are NOT international.
After some investigation on Shepard's part who had to check with FedEX and their facility, FedEX didnt want to ship our robot out because they said we didnt have the proper Customs paperwork. Shepard questioned why since its a domestic shipment, and its funny that the other 3 Hawaii teams had their robots shipped home from the same facility already.
Maybe Waialua sounds too foreign to them. :)
Anyhow, we hope to get it back by early next week in time for our biggest fundraiser of the year!
thanks everyone for sharing.

As of a few days ago FedEx has not shipped our robot yet. This could be bad since WPI BatteCry11 is almost a week away! Thankfully we are fixing our practice robot to meet the competition robot's standard from Atlanta in case it does not show up. Just wondering what other teams up here will do if theirs don't show up and don't have a practice robot! :o

Pretty frustrating since we have our biggest showcase event in a few days.
Anyone else not get their's back yet.
If I knew this was going to happen, I would have left it in the mainland for off-season events.

Our robots havent left Atlanta yet.
Pretty frustrating since we have our biggest showcase event in a few days. Checking out this thread, it looks like shipping the robot from Atlanta cause great stress to the Hawaiian Kids every year. Maybe you need to move your biggest fundraiser / showcase back a few weeks so you don't have this agony year after year. Or just plan on not having this year's robot and then being pleasantly surprised if it shows up on time. :]

Yes.
We had our event last week, even without our robot. We showed a 2003 one, since it was small and compact.
Its hard to plan it any later as our senior's last day is today, graduation at week's end, and summer starting next week.
Its more on the shipping costs since it has to go back yet again to the mainland for the 3rd time this summer. Would've been nice to have more time to fix it after getting beat up all season.
368 said Hawaii would be shipped dead last with the international shipments.
**speaking of shipments, it just left ATL yesterday expected back home tomorrow.**
